Tonight's game with Scotland was Cannavaro's 106th cap and he's now within touching distance of Dino Zoff (112) and Paolo Maldini (126).
I think we're looking at the future record holder for Azzurri appearances.

Ya, i agree......and Buffon will most likely play every game for us. Whereas, Cannavaro, may have some injury problems here and there...but both deserve a standing ovation for their work!

Ya, you usually have a set four for defending...always want to maintain chemistry within defenders as it's crucial not to be out of sync with a new partner. You can depend on strikers, but they can be hot and cold at times.

The further up the pitch you play the quicker you reach your peak and retire, that's while goalkeepers and defenders play for the longest.
Cannavaro has a chance to break the record but he'll need to play beyond Euro 2008.

Really? That is hard to believe to be honest.
Maldini broke in when Italy was deep in defenders, or else he would be much further ahead.
