I think its going to be 1-1.Spain is dangerous. It wont be a complete failure if we lose but spain's midfield of Xavi Fabregas Iniesta and Silva is just oozing with class and can cut open any defence.De Rossi and Gattuso will have to be on their game.

That being said their a bit light weight. They arent the bruising type of midfielders ( although Fab's tackles may prove otherwise ) so Pirlo should have a good time out there.I constanstly heckle him with his inability to play against the rough teams. He too is lightweight and beckhem-esque when it comes to being pressured and crapping out.So if he gets the time and space he can be extremely vital.

With regards to Torres. He will get the service.Hopefully Canna and Barzagli do well in cutting him down and limiting his shots.Buffon will be decisive as always.

Matrix nails Torres, and Torres falls down like a girl. Highlight of match thus far...and a legit Italian goal called back for no reason. Bastardo!

De Rossi is shutting down the left side...now if only Perrotta can cover the right to shut out Sergio Ramos who is having tons of space.

EDIT: Spain's left

De Rossi's passing is really off.Noticed that about him today.usually he's sound at doing the direct passes.

What was wrong with Toni's goal? It looked legit to me.

This is what Spain has and Italy doesnt.A piece of magic at any time.Villa, Torres...it doesnt matter.Don's gotta regroup here.

And if he knew Fab Iniesta and Xavi would play you must play Gattuso in order to boss them.Really poor on don's part especially since Perrotta hasnt been playing well.

Fully deserved victory for Spain.

We looked completely uninterested, and did nothing in that second half.

Though if it wasn't for that brilliant strike by Villa, and the bonehead clearance by Canna, it might of, should of finished 0-0.

Oh well...1-0 to Spain.

De Rossi is no number 10 and pretty much did nothing.

As for lacking a player like those guys...we don't need them. That is not what win you games. A solid 11 will.

Keep this in mind, Italy couldn't really counter the superior ball ability of Spain..because if they did, they could risk injury and such things are not done in friendlies, however the key is too slow the Spanish midfield and attack down with concentrated tactical fouls. Nothing harsh, but its something that would of helped in the game, but like a said, not in a friendly.

Can't say I'm not disappointed, especially considering it's our last real chance at a friendly before the summer.

I'm pretty sure it was Canna who was offside on the disallowed Toni goal.

No one really played badly. The game was decided on a bad clearance by Canna, and even with that it took a perfect volley from Villa to beat Buffon.

I was kind of surprised to see the De Rossi, Pirlo, Perrotta midfield. If I'm not mistaken the last time that happened was the first game of the World Cup against Ghana. I would've liked to see Ambrosini, or even an out of form Gattuso instead of Perrotta.

I thought today cemented the fact that it should be Di Natale and Camo behind Toni. Di Natale's pace and Camo's skill are great complements to Toni and I thought they both played well, especially Camo.

Donadoni called up 21 players for this friendly. If you add a keeper, Chiellini on defense, and replace Iaquinta with Del Piero (or maybe leave Iaquinta and take out Borriello), those would be my guess at the 23 going to Euros.
