Del Piero scored this weekend as well, they're both putting up a strong case at the moment.

I think they should both be called for the next friendly.

Another hattrick for Del Piero, he's on 17 league goals now.

ADP is really making a statement...he definitely deserves to be called to Euro. Cassano would of had an equally good chance if he didn't get that 5 match suspension.

adp is proving a point here, but still how will he perform against other nations player, others styles other strategies and so on so forth if he is picked.maybe he has a point to prve to him self for the dismal showing of our team in 04'
but one thing can be sured, he will be on top of cassano any time in his current form, so if it was to last of these 2 men, adp has a better chance.

Cassano would be better for the Azzurri, but Del Piero has done everything on and off the pitch to earn a spot, and Cassano threw it away with the 5 match ban. I would prefer to see Cassano, because he would surely be a starter over Di Natale (who I don't think is good enough to play that role when the tournament kicks in), but Del Piero will be a super sub.

Watching Cassano lately has been terrific...he's been a great player and has good team chemistry with the Samp players. But, Del Piero has definitely earned his spot...credit to him. Di Natale is almost certain to get called...it would come as a shock to me if Cassano gets called...but i still hope he does.

With 17 league goals this season Di Natale has definitely earned his place, he needs to take his club form to international level though. There's been times when he's played poorly for the Azzurri, we'll see...

What about Quagliarella and Iaquinta? I for one think both will go to Euro...Iaquinta has been played mostly as a sub and i think he will get that role with Italy as well.
Toni, Borriello, Di Natale, Quagliarella, Iaquinta, Del Piero are my list of forwards.

How can Del Piero go when he has rejected Don basically??
Del Piero can't be included for obvious reasons. However Cassano is another issue entirely.
I was cold on him from the start, but his play is winning me over. Is it enough? Who knows?

Donadoni will include Del Piero...he has always stated that every player is worthy of the Azzurri if they play well. ADP has done that...but i imagine Donadoni will speak to ADP and advise him of his playing role on the team. FW or Winger.

Italy needs a real number 10.Ive been harping all season long that Cassano or Rosina should go.2 of Toni Boriello and Iaquinta should be called...Italy only plays with 1 big man the other as a sub. While playing off the big man is the smaller player eg. Di natale,Quag,Camo(Midfielder but still in the attacking role...).
4-3-3 seems to be the way to go and on defence it converts into a 4-5-1 which is peachy.
why not call both Cassano and Del Piero and drop Iaquinta?Id think both would have more of an impact on a match then the big man.

Easily. Just like he rejected Miccoli and a few other players who were playing well. And given the fact that Del Piero can not play the trident affectively..iMHO, and his refusal to play wing, then it makes no sense to bring him to take up a spot.
However, I think the arguement could be made for Miccoli or Cassano. As they in my opinion could play wing or the trident or partner Toni or the other "box" strikers we'll have on this team Joel.
The goal here is too build a team. The main issue I have with Del Piero though is his lack of speed. Yes he does have that FK ability, but we have Pirlo, there is no need for his talent set at this stage. This is my opinion of course.
