Del Piero or Cassano for Euro 2008/Possible Formations
A poll taken by Sky Sport Italia revealed that 62 per cent of Italians would rather see Del Piero taken to Euro 2008 than Cassano.
Del Piero has 10 goals in 22 appearances this season.
Cassano has 6 goals in 13 appearances this season.
What do you think?

agree 200% wth that poll. experience rules over a disturbed prodigy.bsides del peiro is on form and cassano is still finding his form.

Del Piero has the experience but Cassano needs the experience.
If it wasn't for the fact that we've got so many options up front I'd say take them both but that's unlikely to happen.

I don't want either.
Toni is the only striker that is gauranteed of a place.
A. He can only play with Di Natale it seems.
B. Del Piero doesn't want to play as a "winger", and I respect him for that.
As for Cassano, he is hot, let him get hotter. I want to see a few seasons like this, until we give him entry to the Azzurri.
Lastly, goal scoring has not been a problem for us. We should look at this first, to be honest.

exactly, yes he needs experience but not when all is at stake, let him mold through the domestic affairs first, the we still have numerous frienlies after that we still have the qualifiers.if he can prove his worth there the we can take him to the big stage again.

well we have been barren at some times, so i guess its an area that should be given consideration and thoughts just as others.

Cassano has had enough time though, he's 25 now.
Maybe we could use Euro 2008 as experience for him before the next WC, otherwise we're just wasting his talent.
We all saw how good he was at Euro 2004, maybe it's time he was given another chance.

Judging by the way Cassano has been playing.I would say Cassano.ONly for the fact that 1) he has vision.2)He can dribble players.3)He knows how to pass the ball and Italy really needs a number 10-esque type player.
Perfect world though....why not both?

I'm not willing to play a player that hasn't played one game in qauilification. And secondly, we have Pirlo who is our creator and passer, and I don't want to take the ball away from him.
Cassano needs to finish the season, and get ready for world cup qaulification and I gaurantee this is what will happen.
Besides, why not Miccoli then?????

bingo, he hasnt been in the setup since day one and might find some difficulties in gelling in wth don's style and selection of players so why take a big risk when we are already in a death group.better be safe then sorry.
by the time for the 2010 qualifiers he would be ready if he doesnt repeat his old self.

Also arent people being a bit stubborn on the guy.If he's got the qualities and skill to play on the naitonal team then surely you bring him in.I see him as a direct replacement to Totti.

He's not a direct replacment for Totti but that's the quality of player we're talking about.
And lets not forget, he has performed well for the NT in the past.

Delpiero brings experience. I would take him instead of cassano.
