Mario Gomez should return, I wonder if he'll call Podolski too

Joachim Löw was pleased that Germany's "personnel situation" had improved as he named his squad for the qualifier against Wales in Cardiff on 8 September.
Löw relieved
FC Bayern München's Miroslav Klose, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Lukas Podolski and Marcell Jansen have all returned to the fold along with VfB Stuttgart's Mario Gomez, while defender Manuel Friedrich also makes a comeback. "I am happy that the personnel situation before the important qualifier in Wales has improved," said Löw. Germany top Group D and have a five-point lead over second-placed Czech Republic. After their trip to Wales, they take on Romania in a friendly in Cologne on 12 September.

Attack and defence are pretty strong now.
The only weakened side remains the midfield, again.
Minus Ballack, Borowski, Frings, Fritz, Kehl.
Schweini's back, but there's no Bernd Schneider.
Schneider will have to sit-out the game in Wales because of a yellow-card suspension, and whether he will be called-upon for the Romania game is yet to be decided.

Isn't Jansen still injured?
How are Ballack, Borowski, Frings & Co. with their injuries?

Stuttgart defender Tasci pulls out of match against Wales
Stuttgart defender Serdar Tasci has pulled out of Germany's upcoming European Championship qualifying match against Wales because of a groin injury.
Coach Joachim Loew on Tuesday called up forward David Odonkor of Betis Sevilla in Tasci's place.
Tasci had been hoping to make his debut for Germany against Wales on Saturday in Cardiff.

Odonkor brought into German squad
Germany have added Real Betis midfielder David Odonkor to their squad for Saturday's Euro 2008 qualifier against Wales, following the withdrawal of Stuttgart's injured Serdar Tasci.
German coach Joachim Loew has included Odonkor for the game at the Millennium Stadium and the friendly against Romania in Cologne on September 12.
"Serdar Tasci is suffering with a groin problem," said a German Football Federation spokesman in an official statement.
Schalke 04 striker Gerald Asamoah, who was summoned for fitness tests, had to pull out of training in Cologne on Monday night. He went to hospital for observation because of a food allergy
Odonkor was in the German squad for last year's World Cup, but injured a knee in August and only returned for last month's win over England at Wembley.
Loew had initially called up Odonkor and six other players, including Asamoah, for fitness tests with the squad and Tasci's injury forced Odonkor's promotion.
The Germans are five points clear at the top of Euro 2008 qualifying Group D with the Czech Republic in second and Wales are fifth with seven points.

Lehmann back for Germany, new role for Schweinsteiger - Summary
Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann will be between the posts for Germany in their Euro 2008 qualifier against Wales in Cardiff on Saturday. Meanwhile coach Joachim Loew will give the central midfield role to Bayern Munich's Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Loew said Wednesday that Lehmann, 37, who has been absent from the Arsenal side with injury, had now recovered.
"He still has a slight complaint but it does not hamper him too much. He will play," Loew said.
Lehmann had been sidelined since aggravating an Achilles tendon injury in Germany's 2-1 friendly win over England on August 22.
He then complained of an elbow injury which has now cleared up.
Meanwhile without injured captain Michael Ballack or the experienced Torsten Frings and Bernd Schneider in midfield, Loew will turn to 23-year-old Schweinsteiger to pull the strings in midfield.
The Bayern player, who normally plays wide on the left, will get "the leadership role," Loew said.
"With Schneider, Frings and Ballack all out he is one of the most experienced players in midfield. We expect him to show his strength and ability," Loew said.
Schweinsteiger, who has 44 caps, has been tried by Bayern in central midfield in the past without great success.
But he said he was "looking forward to the challenge" in the position for Germany.
"In the middle you are nearly always in the game. You have more ball contact and are involved in more challenges," he said.
Schweinsteiger was considered unfortunate not to have been sent off for a tackle on SV Hamburg's Jerome Boateng in Bayern's 1-1 draw in Hamburg on Sunday.
Instead he was shown a yellow card and immediately substituted by Bayern coach Ottmar Hitzfeld.
"We expect an improvement in performance from the game on Sunday in Hamburg," Loew said.
After a long recovery from a knee injury Schweinsteiger has been showing good form this season where he seems to have benefited from playing alongside new signing Franck Ribery.
Meanwhile Loew still appeared slightly puzzled by the decision by Chelsea to omit Ballack from their squad for the group phase of the Champions League.
"He can't really explain it himself 100 per cent," Loew said after speaking to Ballack, who has not played since April following ankle surgery.
Chelsea said the decision was taken because Ballack would be out of action until at least October, and that he could be added to the squad in January when three changes are permitted.
Ballack has told Loew there had been "a slight setback" to the injury at the weekend, although the player is banking on a comeback sooner than his club doctor.
Loew had said at the start of the week he hoped Ballack would be be available for Euro 2008 qualifiers next month against Ireland and Czech Republic.
Germany lead Group D in Euro 2008 qualifying by five points over Czech Republic.

Wales 0 - 2 Germany
I think we'll give a solid display but feel that we'll have that result.

I'm keen to see how will Schweini do as CM.
Germany has to win, even though Wales will try to create problems.
I don't see a big win in this one, but yeah, most likely a 2-0.

No way Gomez is starting.
Klose is for sure, he'll even captain Germany.
I think Kuranyi will partner Klose, and than he'll be substituted for Poldi.
No chance Gomez is playing/starting ahead of Poldi.
Btw, maybe Jansen will play, so Lahm can aswell change the position to that weird one he played against England.

Why wont Gomez play ?
Gomez is fit, whereas Podolski has just returned to fitness, I doubt he'll get any playing time. Agreed Kuranyi will start, but I'm sure Gomez will play too.
Jansen also just returned to fitness and Pander is on a high atm. I just hope Low doesnt make the same stupid mistake of playing Lahm as DM and Friedrich as RB :S
