Yep. Schweini was def man of the match.

Played good the CM position, very good actually.

He was involved a lot. Very very active.

Passed the ball a lot, created a lot, run a lot, everything.

Can't remember the ginger's name either.

We basicaly can't rate Poldi.

He wasn't involved much.

Touched the ball maximum 5 times.

And had that chance to make it 3-0 in the end, but unfortunately saw his shot blocked.

That's too bad. I would have been good for Poldi's confidence to score a goal.

Yeah, he really wanted it.

He was so nervous from the first minute he got in.

You guys have noticed it?

He really wanted and will still want a goal.

That will help him a lot.

Btw, Miro Klose was top class.

Two good goals.

Anyone knows the symbol of his sign/gesture with the three fingers up?

Does that symbolize the word 'M'?

Default Wales v Germany; Minute-by-minute report

90+4 mins: The referee has blown for full-time and Germany, despite never really getting out of second gear, have won comfortably in Cardiff. Wales possibly threw in the towel too early but credit must go to the visitors for a dominant display.

90+3 mins: Schweinsteiger dispossesses Eastwood as the Wolves forward dwells on the ball.

90+2 mins: Helmes sends the ball across the Wales six-yard box as the Welsh defence looks on helplessly.

90+1 mins: Ricketts cross from the right evades Bale as the Spurs man tries to get his head on the ball.

90 mins: Lehmann does well to keep his cool as Earnshaw prevents him from taking a Germany free-kick.

89 mins: Trochowski's through ball is intercepted by Collins.

88 mins: Schweinsteiger has started to drift out of the game now but when the match was in its earlier stages he produced a peformance of the highest calibre.

87 mins: Two-goal hero Klose has been replaced by Patrick Helmes.

86 mins: Hitzlsperger fires a powerful effort, from 30 yards, over the bar as Germany look to extend their lead.

85 mins: Schweinsteiger incepts Eastwood's attempted through ball to Earnshaw.

84 mins: Wales appear demoralised and they will have to raise themselves quickly as they face Slovakia on Wednesday.

83 mins: Earnshaw mistimes his pass through to Ricketts with the full-back one-on-one with Lehmann if the sub plays a good throughball. Instead the ball goes out for a throw-in.

82 mins: Podolski tries to play a one-two with Jansen but the sub sends his return pass out of play for a Wales throw.

81 mins: Klose is flagged offside as he mistimes his run past the Wales backline.

80 mins: Eastwood's run down the left is halted by Friedrich.

79 mins: Wales have made their final change with Andrew Crofts coming on to replace Davies.

78 mins: The referee might as well blow for full-time now as Germany are in complete control but seem happy enough to settle for the two goals they have already scored.

77 mins: Hennessey claims Jansen's cross from the left with ease.

76 mins: The German fans are cheering every pass their team completes now. Their side has been very impressive and on this performance look certainties to make the trip to Euro 2008.

75 mins: Trochowski misjudges his pass and Collins brings the ball clear for Wales.

74 mins: Earnshaw is caught offside as he tries to run onto Eastwood's threaded ball through.

73 mins: Kuranyi is replaced up-front for Germany by Lukas Podolski.

72 mins: Earnshaw sends his effort from 25 yards well over the German bar.

71 mins: The German defence is passing the ball around the back as they get the rare opportunity of a prolonged period on the ball.

70 mins: Germany are completely in control of this match and the only question left is by how many more goals they will score.

69 mins: Klose again misses a chance for his hat-trick after sending his header wide of goal after good work down the left from Jansen.

68 mins: Jansen's cross from the right is claimed with ease by Hennessey.

67 mins: Wales make their second change with the diappointing Koumas replaced by Carl Fletcher.

66 mins: Eastwood appears to be playing in midfield now as his frustrating night for Wales continues.

65 mins: Schweinsteiger is hacked down on the edge of the Wales box but the referee somewhat mystifingly waves play on.

64 mins: With the chance of a hat-trick Klose can only send his shot from eight yards into the grateful arms of Hennessey.

63 mins: Trochowski fails to find Kuranyi as the Schalke striker tries to break into the box.

62 mins: Collins' woeful long ball is cleared with ease by Mertesacker.

60 mins: GOAL KLOSE. Germany have doubled their lead after Klose placed his header from six yards past Hennessey. The goal was set up by Hilbert who caught Bale in possession. When he watches the replay of this goal it will make uncomfortable viewing for the Spurs man.

59 mins: Earnshaw turns Per Mertesacker to find space for a shot, but the Derby striker send his effort wide of goal.

58 mins: Jansen sends a dangerous low cross across the Wales six-yard box but Collins is on hand to clear the ball away from goal.

57 mins: Kuranyi produces a poor pass to give the ball to Collins on the edge of the Wales box.

56 mins: Schweinsteiger breaks into the box and his beautiful curled effort clips the top of the crossbar. The Bayern Munich midfielder has been truly exceptional tonight.

55 mins: Hilbert fires in a low shot from the edge of the Wales box but once again Hennessey is equal to the threat and the German's fail to extend their lead.

54 mins: Bale gets his head to the ball to clear Trochowski's corner from the Wales six-yard box.

53 mins: Trochowski wins a corner as his cross is deflected behind by Bale.

52 mins: A poor crossfield pass by Collins is intercepted by Hitzlsperger.

51 mins: Collins intercepts Trochowski's attempted throughball to Klose. Germany have started the second half like they ended the first, in complete control.

50 mins: Trochowski cuts in from the left to fire a low shot straight at Hennessey.

49 mins: Klose is forced off the ball by Nyatanga as the Derby defender shows great strength.

48 mins: Bale tries to burst into the Germany box but his progress is ended by Freidrich.

47 mins: Kuranyi plays through Klose on goal but Hennessey comes out to clear the danger.

46 mins: The second half has got under way and both teams have made a change. Piotr Trochowski has come on for Germany replacing Pander and Robert Earnshaw is on for Wales taking the place of Joe Ledley.

Half-time: Wales 0 Germany 1

45 mins+3: It's half-time in Cardiff and Germany richly deserve their lead. Schweinsteiger has been magnificent all half and Wales will need to do something special in the second half if they are to get anything out of this match.

45 mins+2: The Germany defence clear the corner with ease as Wales fail to build on one of their few attacking opportunities.

45 mins+1: Bale's cross is headed out for a corner by Pander, under pressure from Eastwood.

45 mins: There will be two minutes of additional time.

44 mins: Freidrich clears the ball away from Bale as the Germans again look solid at the back.

43 mins: Klose is caught offside as he tries to run onto Kuranyi's through ball.

42 mins: Germany deserve their lead but they should be disappointed that they haven't extended their advantage.

41 mins: Collins is back on the pitch, after sending the stretcher away, and on his return he gives the referee a barel of abuse for not letting him on sooner to earn himself a booking.

40 mins: Sadly after his brave effort to deny Kuranyi, Collins looks unlikely to continue after landing heavily on his wrist.

39 mins: Collins produces a brave block to deny Kuranyi as the Germany striker has the goal at his mercy.

38 mins: Gabbidon is booked after a late tackle on Klose.

37 mins: Schweinsteiger fires the free-kick miles over the Wales bar.

36 mins: Collins give away an indirect free-kick in the Wales box after a high challenge on Jansen. The foul didn't look like obstruction so Wales can count themselves very lucky.

35 mins: Wales waste the throw and Germany regain possession with the impressive Schweinsteiger.

34 mins: Ricketts wins a throw-in off the legs of Pander.

33 mins: Pander sends his cross out of play from the left flank as Germany regain control of this match.

32 mins: Koumas sends his shot from 30 yards high and wide of the Germany goal as Wales have a rare spell in the German final third.

31 mins: Hilbert tries to thread through Kuranyi but his pass is intercepted by Nyatanga.

30 mins: Germany have built on their impressive friendly win over England thus far and look likely to take home all three points from this game.

29 mins: From 35 yards, Hitzlsperger fires wide of Hennessey's left-hand post with a well struck effort.

28 mins: Schweinsteiger produces a dangerous corner into the six-yard box which is punched clear by Hennessey under pressure from Kuranyi.

27 mins: Marcell Jansen's cross from the left is cleared out of play by Collins for a Germany corner.

26 mins: Eastwood tracks back to win the ball from Roberto Hilbert on the edge of the Wales box.

25 mins: Sam Ricketts cuts in from the right and the Hull full-back's effort is saved with ease by Lehmann at his near post.

24 mins: Eastwood is completely isolated up front for Wales as yet another long ball is cleared by the Germany defence.

23 mins: Kuranyi has the opportunity to fire a shot in on goal but is denied by a fantastic last-ditch tackle from Lewin Nyatanga.

22 mins: Davies plays the ball across the six-yard box but Bale tries to be too clever and his flicked effort goes wide of the Germany goal.

21 mins: Schweinsteiger's free-kick goes over the bar from 25 yards.

20 mins: Robinson slides in late on Kuranyi, on the edge of the Wales box, to give away a free-kick in an area where Germany are certain to have a shot on goal.

19 mins: Davies produces a mis-hit pass as he tries to find Bale down the left.

18 mins: Schwiensteiger is pulling the strings for Germany and Wales will have to find a way to deal with him if they are to find a way back into this game.

17 mins: Simon Davies overhits his ball through to Koumas and Lehmann comes out to clear the danger.

16 mins: Schweinsteiger's corner from the left is headed clear of the Wales goal by Robinson at the near-post.

15 mins: Koumas sends a side-footed volley wide of Jens Lehmann's left-hand post after being set up after good work by Carl Robinson.

14 mins: Germany have been keeping the ball for fun and if the match carries on like this they appear certain to extend their lead.

13 mins: Bastian Schweinsteiger's shot from the edge of the box is blocked by the legs of his team-mate Kuranyi.

12 mins: Kuranyi meets Thomas Hitzlsperger's corner but the Schalke striker sends his header wide of goal.

11 mins: Christain Pander's cross is deflected behind for a Germany corner.

10 mins: Under pressure from Friedrich down the right Danny Gabbidon puts the ball out for a Germany throw.

9 mins: The referee gives a free-kick after Kuranyi is outmuscled by Collins.

8 mins: Germany are now controling possession, Wales will need to keep their shape in order to prevent the German's extending their lead.

6 mins: GOAL KLOSE. Klose slots the ball into the right-hand corner of the net past Hennessey after working a neat one-two with Kuranyi on the edge of the Wales box. The worse possible start to the match for Wales.

5 mins: It's been a pretty even start to this match and Wales know their defence will have to be solid to keep out the twin threat of Klose and Kuranyi.

4 mins: Kevin Kuranyi tries to play the ball through to Klose but James Collins comes across to clear the danger.

3 mins: Arne Freidrich's cross from the right is claimed with ease by Wayne Hennessey.

2 mins: Jason Koumas tries to find Bale down the left flank, but the Spurs man is flagged offside.

1 mins: Eastwood gives away an early free-kick as he takes down Miroslav Klose in the centre-circle.

1 mins: The game is under way and Wales will be looking to produce a memorable performance to see off Germany.

Pre-match: Wales are without their skipper Craig Bellamy as the West Ham striker remained with his wife at the bedside of their sick daughter.

The child, born on Monday, has been having on-going hospital treatment and Bellamy felt he needed to be with his family.

It means Cardiff's Joe Ledley comes into the side at the Millennium Stadium to play at left wing-back, with Gareth Bale pushing into midfield and Wales fielding just one striker in Freddy Eastwood.

Germany include Bayern Munich's Marcel Jansen after his recovery from a high temperature, while Kevin Kuranyi and Robert Hilbert are late additions to a side missing nine players due to injury for this Euro 2008 qualifier.

Default Match report | Captain Klose takes Germany closer

Two Miroslav Klose goals gave Germany a comfortable win in Wales that takes the Group D leaders to the verge of the UEFA EURO 2008™ finals.

One win away
Klose, captaining Germany for the first time in the injured Michael Ballack's absence, opened the scoring early on in Cardiff and his header on the hour to double the advantage was the very least the visitors deserved. They maintain the best record in any group having dropped just two points and are five ahead of the second-placed Czech Republic. Indeed, Germany go to the Republic of Ireland on 13 October knowing a victory would seal qualification

Klose strikes
Within five minutes Germany were ahead. Kevin Kuranyi raced forward from midfield and played the ball into the path of Klose, who produced a neat finish. Kuranyi broke through again in search of a second goal but was dispossessed by Lewin Nyatanga, before Thomas Hitzlsperger sent a free-kick centimetres over the bar. Kuranyi was then denied by James Collins as Germany's dominance continued unabated, with Wales grateful to go in at half-time only 1-0 down.

Second goal
There was little change to the pattern of the game after the interval. Roberto Hilbert forced a save from Wayne Hennessey, Bastian Schweinsteiger shot on to the top of the bar, before Klose struck again on the hour mark with a close-range header after Hilbert had tackled Gareth Bale and crossed into the box. Klose now wanted a hat-trick to mark his 70th cap but he fired straight at Hennessey before heading just past the post from a Marcell Jansen centre. Robert Earnshaw sent a rare Wales salvo narrowly over the bar but a comeback was never on. Wales, in fifth, visit Slovakia on Wednesday.

Default Löw: Pressure Is Off Us Now

Germany’s 2-0 win over Wales has all but assured their qualification for next year’s finals in Austria/ Switzerland.

National trainer Joachim Löw, although not complacent, sees the pressure as now being off his side.

“The line-up of the group was excellent, but now the pressure to win is off of us. We have everything in hand.

“Today we took a huge step and I’m absolutely delighted with the result. We started strongly, played good football and raised the tempo later in the game.

“A lot of things were good, but there are still a few things to work on. Our final pass was often lacking.”

Two-goal hero Miroslav Klose was also pleased with the performance.

“We are clear leaders in the group, and we will carry on playing this way. We continue to bring talent into the team, who establish themselves well. We are on a very promising path.”

Man of the Match Bastian Schweinsteiger added, “We played well and controlled the game. In the first half we could have scored a few more goals.”

Yeah, it is almost certain we will qualify now. With most of upcoming matches on home soil we'll finish top of the group.

Germany have virtually confirmed their qualification.

22 points from 24 they could gather till now.

Another win will officially confirm their qualification.

Best team in Europe atm. I've watched highlights on Eurosport, agreed Schweini did very well and Germany definately deserved the win. Surprised Lehmann didnt make any mistakes
How was Jansen ? Did he seem like he could play the 90mins against Schalke ?

A bit off topic, but Germany have so many great strikers, Klose is on form, Kuranyi is on form, Podolski is coming back.. Germany could loan us (Portugal) Mario Gomez for a game, he would be so useful after we dreaw at home with Poland His name is also very Portuguese

That is actually a great point, could well be to symbolize an M, other than that, I have no idea what it means.

I doubt anyone questions that.

Germany are top class.

--

Lehmann didn't make any mistakes because he was hardly tested.

Na, really, he wasn't busy at all.

Mertesacker was a beast.

--

Jansen did pretty good from the wings.

In first half he played in midfield, than back in second half he started LB.

Very good performance, made some good runs, good passes and good croses.

He will play against Schalke, and will do a good job, I'm confident.

I think lehmann was good, true he didn't have much to do but he looked pretty confident and didn't make stupid fuckups like passing the ball to the welsh strikers.
