Friendly: Austria 0 - 3 Germany
The German national team will play their next away game in Vienna against Austria on February 6, 2008.
Both teams met 33 times in history so far. Germany won 19 matches, Austria eight, six matches ended in a draw.
On August 18, 2004 the teams met for the last time. At Vienna, Germany won the friendly match 3-1 (1-1) thanks to striker Kevin Kurynai, who scored all three goals.

I wonder who will stay in goal - Lehmann, once again, or some young goalie will be given the chance?

We'll find that out, it will most likely be Lehmann, for him to gain match practice, something he is not getting at Arsenal or anywhere around at the moment.
If he was a starter at Arsenal, someone else would have kept goal obviously.
I want Löw to call Adler!

My vote would go to Rensing but it's obvious that he won't be called due to lack of match practice. I'm sure he'll be called through half way of next season for some friendly, with him being No.1 at Bayern Munich.
So, for now, i also vote for Adler.

^ Podolski is now considered midfield?
Anyways, this is bullshit. Why aren't they fielding a young, good goalkeeper like Adler or Weise?
Such lack of vision.

Well, in the last games for Germany Podolski was actually playing in midfield, and he did well
But yeah, friendlies are great opportunity to try out the youngsters, and I don't get why Loew is stuck with Hildebrand and Lehmann either...

I think he doesn't want to disturb the team spirit. But after the EC when Lehmann retires he will give Adler,Neuer or Rensing a cahnce in a friendly maybe against England who knows. I am favourising Adler because he is at the moment the best of those three.
Ok coming to the game. I don't really care wether we win or not as long as we win the game against Austria at the EC. But still a win would be nice.
The Line up I favourise is:
-------------------Lehmann-----------------
Castro----Merte---Westermann---Lahm
-------------Rolfes---Ballack-------------
Schneider-----------------------Podolski(if he is really fit. If he is not fit then I would let Hitzelsperger play)
--------------Gomez--------Klose-----------

Well we have Matzelder but he is injured and we have Arne Friedrich but he is also injured. We also have Manuel Friedrich but I don't like him. The best of course is Mertesacker.^^ Plus Westermann plays a good season at Schalke.

The only match I saw of him, was against Rosenborg in CL, on the last MD.
Westermann was crap, at fault for Rosenborg's equaliser and looked really poor in the air. When Krstajic gets back, Westermann will get benched

Kristajic already is back a long time.^^
Westermann mostly then played LB because of Panders injury. But Kristajic played bad so Westermann will keep his place in Schalkes starting lineup.
Btw you can't judge a player from one game. Against Frankfurt he saved Schalke one point because he shot the two goals. I think he has some potential definetly more than M.Friedrich.
