Löw keeps faith in Klose
Quote:
Germany boss Joachim Low has confirmed the out-of-form Miroslav Klose remains his number one striker.
The Werder Bremen forward has been performing poorly for both club and country in recent months as speculation over a future move to Bayern Munich continues.
He failed to find the net in Germany's 6-0 victory over San Marino, while Mario Gomez came off the bench to score twice in the last half hour.
However, Low says he will resist the pressure to pick Gomez ahead of Klose for Wednesday's Euro 2008 qualifier against Slovakia.
"Despite all the discussions that are going on about Miro, I'm not worried about him at all," Low told the DFB's official website.
"Of course he didn't have a good day against San Marino and he is going through a tough patch, but his ability is unquestionable and that's why he is our first choice for the starting line-up.
"Every striker goes through a phase when he can't seem to score and the only thing that really helps is getting support from your coaches and that is what we are giving Miro.
"I hope that things will improve for him against Slovakia."

No way (to the 2nd part) he just wants to move to Bayern, but I think he should indeed be dropped

Sometimes a player need a fresh start and the best way is to drop him.Like England did to Beckham so he can get his motivation back on track.

Miro needs a break, true.
But I understand Loew aswell. Good to see he supports Klose.

Klose testing Germany's patience
Quote:
As Miroslav Klose looks to end a goalscoring famine against Slovakia in Hamburg, some German fans feel uncertainty over the future is unsettling the striker.
Barren spell
Klose has not scored in the league since Werder Bremen's 3-2 defeat by DSC Arminia Bielefeld on 29 April and last found the target for Germany in September's 13-0 rout of San Marino. A 6-0 win against San Marino in the first of their two June UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifying ties on Saturday saw Klose's barren spell continue. Once a model of commitment with his tireless running, the striker - who turns 29 on Saturday - looks out of sorts.
Bayern rumours
The player has complained he has never quite recovered from a bacterial infection he picked up in January, but fans and team-mates are not convinced. Persistent rumours that he had agreed to join FC Bayern München in the summer of 2008, when his contract at Bremen expires, have dogged Klose this season, and his club and country team-mate Torsten Frings is eager for the situation to be resolved.
Frings frustration
Frings said: "Of course, he is very useful to us, but given the trouble of the past months I don't really think he wants to continue to play for Werder. If that's the case, he should just leave." The usually taciturn Klose replied: "If you know Torsten, you know he says one thing one day and another the next. I didn't said anything when he was linked with Juventus but I can't influence whether he chooses to say something about me. Frankly, I don't care."
Beckenbauer concerned
Franz Beckenbauer does care, and the Bayern president is eager for Klose's future to be resolved. "It's obvious he is troubled by the situation. Both clubs should meet and agree terms. Fans should remember how much joy Klose gave them with his five goals at the [FIFA] World Cup. We wouldn't have reached the semi-finals without his goal against Argentina."
Gomez glad
With Germany comfortably top of UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifying Group D, coach Joachim Löw is standing by Klose, insisting he will start against Slovakia. That should mean that Mario Gomez, who scored twice against San Marino, will start on the bench. He is not too concerned, saying: "I have played just twice for Germany, while Miro has played on the highest level for seven years now." Whether German fans will continue to be so patient with Klose if his dog days continue is another matter.

Joachim Löw Expresses Klose Concern
Quote:
Joachim Löw Expresses Klose Concern German national team coach Joachim Löw would like a swift resolution to the Miroslav Klose saga.
Löw is wary that an unsettled season can affect his star striker's form and confidence ahead of the European Championships next summer.
Klose has been the catalyst of Germany's two largely successful World Cup campaigns. He scored 5 times as the Germans made it to the final in 2002, and 5 more times as Klinsmann's young team grabbed third place last summer.
An indifferent spell during Euro 2004, in contrast, saw Germany crash out during the group stages, wherein they were pitted alongside the Czechs and the Dutch.
Löw wants Klose in top form, coming off a strong season, as the team head into next summer's tournament.
"I hope the situation is resolved as quickly as possible," he said.
"Should Miro go to Bayern, then we will be 100% behind him. If he stays in Bremen then he will have to be professional and give everything to them."

If Klose remains it Werder, it will hurt the NT.
Werder will have an unhappy Klose for the rest of the season, which will result in his poor form, for both Werder and NT.
A move to Bayern is the best solution, honestly.

Klose is the number in the NT, but Gomez's time will come, no doubt.
