Default The Top 5 surprises and flops of the season

My opinion on who was a total surprise so far this season and who turned out to be a complete flop. the top 5 players...

TOP

1) Bubacar Sanogo (Bremen)
I have to join in with the rest here. I was sure Bremen bought a flop here for horendous 5 millions. 12 goals in 20 games and several assists later he is my biggest surprise of the season

2) Tamas Hajnal (KSC)
KSC on 4th place. And the success has one name. Tamas Hajnal. He came this season for 450.000 € from Kaiserslautern and has established himself to be constantly one of the top 5 midfielders besides diego, vdv and ribery. YOu can already see him leave to a bigger club next season for 6-7 mios minimum

3) Ivica Olic (HSV)
Already marked as a total flop last season he is a fixture for HSV now. 6 goals in the last 8 games so far and has totally taken mohammed zidan's place

4) Demichelis (Bayern)
Still ranked as the defender with the best tackling percentages micho has finally arrived in Munich and is also a fixture in the Argentine NT now

5) I'd say Ashkan Dejagah (Wolfsburg)
The german u21 international has played all league games for wolfsburg so far and scored 5 goals as a midfielder. Very impressive season

Flops
------
I take out injured players like Sagnol, I just mean players who had high expectations this season and played a real crap round

1) Mohammed Zidan (HSV)
After scoring 14 goals last season the HSV player now has only one goal and finds himself on the bench most of the time...

2) "Kuba" Blaszczykowski (BVB)
After playing an incredible pre season the polish "talent of the century" has played a horrible campaign. on the bench now for several games and rightfully so

3) Jose Sosa (Bayern
10 Millions for the argentine and only one game as starter so far. The big dissapointement in a lot of good transfers for Bayern this season

4) Gekas ( Leverkusen )
After being the top goalgetter last season, gekas now finds himself on the bench more often then on the pitch. last game against berlin not even subbed in

5) Sergiu Radu ( Wolfsburg )
14 goals 5 assists last season for cottbus he now finds himself on the bench for wolfsburg with only a total of 357 mins played out of 1400 possible. 180 opf those in the first two games

Good Idea

Tops:

1.Sanogo(Werder)
Before the season everyone said why did Werder pay so much money for him. I bet now they think why did Werder have to pay so little money for him.^^

2.Hajnal(KSC)
After Ribery, Diego and VdV the fourth best midfielder in the league at the moment. KSC only paid 450000 for him. When they sell him they will get 50 times more.

3.Barbarez(Leverkusen)
36 years old and now is the leading player in leverkusen. now Leverkusen even wants to extend his contract.

4.Guerro(HSV)
Is now the striker number 1 in Hamburg. Although he is injured at the moment. After Zidan was hired everyone said he has no future in Hamburg. But now he is playing and zidan is watching from the bench.

5.Lell(Bayern)
I know I know he won't be in the starting line up forever and the he profitated form some injures of the others. But still it is one of the most surprising things of the season that Christian Lell has a Spot in the 70 million bayern munich team and he has done his job quite well.

Flops
1.Kovac(BVB)
I haven't seen a single good game from him. He is too old.

2.Lauth(Hannover)
Is decreasing with every season.

3.Schlaudraff
Was too fast when he chosed Bayern. Now he has Ribery before him who he will never be able to compete with.

4. Carlos Alberto(Werder)
Most expensive transfer ever and now is playing rarely.

5.Grossmüller(Schalke)
No one knows why Schalke hired him. he is not playing regulary and when he plays he plays bad.

TBH i wasn't surprised by Barbarez. I was expecting him to have a great season if he is injury free. he is a great player with some great technical skills ( you saw it in his last goal. voley in the long corner )
but you are def right with lell. He is a bigger surprise. I first thought i should switch hamit for Demichelis and maybe after 10 games it would have been so, but he was on teh decline a lot lately. Bur Lell sure is the surprise of the season at Bayern

Flops i agree. Kovac: really, really poor
carlos alberto i didn't rate yet cause i have him more on the injured list. At least officially he was out with sleep problems ???
he sure is maybe the biggest flop so far but he also did just have 2 or 3 games. But he is top candidat for flop of the season after 34 games !

Another thing: surprise team of the season: werder bremens B team.
I'm a die hard bayern fan, but what bremen did after we beat them at home is impressing espescially with those injures. I'm impressed big time. THomas Schaaf is usre the best coach in the League atm. by far !

I definitely don't agree with this.

If you consider those 3 players to be flops, then you have a very wrong definition of the word "flop".
Flop is a player which has been given much playing time but has been rather disappointing (neither of those 3 meet the criteria, so I really cannot understand why you consider them to be flops).

I don't think Gekas has been as bad as you're making it out to be. Yes he hasn't played much lately, but he has his share of goals (7 goals, just 2 behind Klose/Toni and he is Leverkusen's top scorer). To consider him a flop, is wrong, in my opinion.

Grossmüller isn't as bad as you're saying, he definitely isn't Schalke-class, but he could may well become a good player in the Bundesliga, if he moves to a smaller side.

On a side note, I would add Mike Hanke to the surprises.
He has been good for Hannover, has scored 5 goals and has been their main threat along with Huzsti. He seems reborn at Hannover, after a poor season with Wolfsburg, unlike his team mate Benjamin Lauth.

I would add Ewerthon to the flops list. He has been given more than enough chances at Stuttgart, but he is yet to impress, with just 1 goal in the Bundesliga. I would rather have Cacau or Marica over Ewerthon, any day of the week.
