Adil Chihi [Köln]
Quote:
Premiership duo Arsenal and Tottenham are both reportedly vying for Cologne youngster Adil Chihi.
The Moroccan youngster is yet to pen a professional deal, although the German side hope to resolve that in the near future.
The Gunners have been linked with the striker for some time, but the North Londoners are yet to table a bid for the 18-year-old.
Cologne director of football Michael Meyer has confirmed the club are looking to tie down Chihi's services with an improved deal.
"We plan to make Adil a pro, but not just yet," explained Meyer. "He said he wants to stay and we'll increase his salary soon."
Chihi would not need a work permit to play in England as he also holds a German passport.

Cologne's teenage sensation Adil Chihi has informed the German Football Association that he will no longer be available for selection as he has decided to play for Morocco instead.
The 18-year-old, who grew up in Germany but with Moroccan parents, had initially stressed his desire to play for Germany's Under-19s, but he seems to have changed his mind after a discussion with the Moroccan ambassador.
"I am really disappointed as I believe that it would have been in his best interests to play with us," said DFB youth coach Frank Engel.
The in-form youngster is one of the revelations of the current Bundesliga 2 campaign and his goal helped the Goats to a sensational 4-2 home win over Schalke 04 in the second round of the DFB Cup.
Chihi is currently linked with several Bundesliga clubs including Schalke, Stuttgart and Hamburg and it is expected that he will leave the Rheinenergie-Stadium should Hans-Peter Latour's team fail to win back their place in the Bundesliga next summer.

Cologne star Adil Chihi has admitted that he would love the chance to play in England.
Both Arsenal and Tottenham are understood to be keeping close tabs on the 18-year-old.
Chihi, who has recently turned his back on Germany in favour of his parents' home nation of Morocco, has admitted he knows of the interest from England.
"I know about this interest but it's up to Cologne," Chihi admitted in the News of the World.
"To play in England would be sensational."
The left winger is currently contracted to Bundesliga Zwei outfit Cologne until 2009.

President Wolfgang Overath announced the good news during the annual general meeting: the striker will remain with 1. FC Köln for years to come.
FC President Wolfgang Overath had a special surprise for the club members during the annual general meeting.
Five years
At the end of his speech, he announced that youngster Adil Chihi had extended his contract.
"He signed a five-year contract and we're sure that he has a great future ahead of him", the president declared.
Meier delighted
FC sporting director Michael Meier was delighted, too. "I think that we acted very weighed on this issue. We chose the right time to announce it."
"The contract lasts for five years without a buy-out clause, which is a clear commitment to the club from Adil, and that makes us proud", Meier said.
