Gomez is very much settled at Stuttgart, so I don't think he's planning a move.
Not in the near future, anyway.
We must not be surprised of teams showing interest in him.
But, it doesn't mean they're true reports, nor Mario is going to move there.
The Fiorentina 'news' is a joke. Barcelona understandable, Mario could go there.
But never on earth Mario would go to Fiorentina?
Why would he go there? lol..

Mario Gomez Out Until 2008
VfB Stuttgart have been dealt a hammer blow ahead of the New Year following the news that star striker Mario Gomez is out of action until January at the earliest...
Mario Gomez will miss the remainder of 2007 with VfB Stuttgart.
The German champions are already out of Europe as they head into their final match against FC Barcelona, but Gomez's absence will still prove costly.
This is especially true on the domestic front, where the 2007 German Player of the Year has proved invaluable over the past twelve months.
However, a recurring chest infection will now see him sidelined, rendering him unable to help his inconsistent teammates recapture the form that saw them lift the BuLi trophy after fifteen years without it.
"This is a bitter blow, of course, but we have to get on with it," said general manager Horst Heldt to UEFA.com.
Cacau, however, recovered from his own troubles to score against Wolfsburg in the hard-fought 3-1 win at the weekend, and should be fit and ready for the Nou Camp.

Veh: Mario Gomez Is Staying
Stuttgart trainer Armin Veh has once again moved to end speculation over the future of German international striker Mario Gomez by insisting the player is staying with the club.
“Mario is 100% part of our plans for the future” Veh stressed in an interview with ‘Südwest Presse’.
The Stuttgart striker will remain with the Swabians at least until 2012 according to the VfB trainer and Veh is keen to put an end once and for all to the rumours linking Gomez with a move to a ‘top European’ club.
“Mario will definitely stay. He has a contract until 2012. If he only had one until 2009, it would be a different story.
“There is always going to be a market for a player like Mario, but definitely not this summer” Veh explained.
Gomez was linked with a move to Juventus last summer and it seems likely that despite Armin Veh’s insistence, the rumours over a potential move to Serie A or La Liga will surface again this summer- particularly if the striker has a good tournament at the European Championships.

Yeah, I highly doubt he'll leave this summer.
Next summer, possibilities are very open. FCB?

I don't think we'll get him with Toni and Klose on the roster

DFB To Take Action Over Gomez Outburst
The disciplinary board of the DFB (Deutsche Fussball Bund) are set to take action over an outburst from Stuttgart striker Mario Gomez aimed at Karlsruhe defender Maik Franz.
Straight after the derby match yesterday, which Stuttgart won 3-1, Gomez verbally attacked Franz in an interview on German TV channel Premiere.
“Normally I respect every opponent. But this arsehole…he is quite simply an unfair sportsman” Gomez ranted.
“He plays unfair and that is known all over the league. But he is still protected by the referees.”
German international striker Gomez scored his 11th goal of the season in the fifth minute to set the Swabians on the way to a 3-1 win over their fierce local rivals. The two players were involved in a constant battle all afternoon at the Gottlieb-Daimler Stadion before Gomez was substituted in the 78th minute.
A few hours after the game when he had had time to calm down and his adrenalin levels had dropped, the VfB striker was sticking to his guns.
“I stand by what I said, it is the truth and nothing but the truth. To talk anymore about it would be a waste of time” he explained.
Franz responded by saying it was all just part and parcel of the game. “Mario is a good player, but everything else needs improvement. I am not going to sink to that level.
“The game was fully normal, it was just a hot-blooded derby.”
The DFB will decide in the coming days as to whether Mario Gomez has any charges to answer for his outburst.

Gomez regrets Franz comments
Stuttgart striker Mario Gomez has apologised for his criticism of Karlsruhe's Maik Franz following Saturday's heated derby.
The two players tangled several times during the Bundesliga champions' 3-1 win over their local rivals.
Gomez continued the feud in television interviews after the final whistle, calling Franz 'an unfair sportsman who is protected by the referee'.
The Germany international's comments could land him in hot water with the DFB disciplinary committee, which is investigating his reaction, and Gomez has now attempted to cool the situation.
"Maik Franz and I clashed several times on the pitch," Gomez wrote on his personal website.
"The way I expressed my dissatisfaction at the way he plays was not OK. I shouldn't let something like that happen to me, despite all the emotion involved.
"I mustn't let myself be provoked in that manner in the future, especially as I gave the right response with my performance on the pitch."

Gomez Hit With Fine But Is Spared Ban
Quote:
Stuttgart striker Mario Gomez has been hit with a fine for his verbal attack on Karlsruhe’s Maik Franz, but has been saved from a ban.
The German international has been fined €8000 by the DFB disciplinary commission for his outburst following VfB’s derby victory over rivals Karlsruhe. He will not however have to sit out any matches as the commission decided against a ban.
Gomez will not be appealing against the verdict. “I accept the punishment, because straight after the game I did make the verbal outburst. For me the issue is now over.”
The disciplinary commission under the leadership of Anton Nachreiner decided to take action after Gomez gave an interview to TV channel Premiere in which he attacked opponent Maik Franz calling him an “arsehole” and claiming he was an unfair player, who was protected by referees.
Gomez did apologise the day after the interview and this was taken into account by the committee.
“Maik Franz and I clashed a few times on the pitch, but the manner in which I voiced my anger was not really okay. Something like that shouldn’t happen despite my emotions.
“I shouldn’t let myself be provoked, I’ll do my talking on the pitch.”

Stuttgart Resigned To Gomez Exit
Stuttgart sporting director Horst Heldt believes that in-demand striker Mario Gomez will certainly leave Die Roten before his contract expires...
The German international was Player of the Year during Stuttgart's rise to the Bundesliga title last season, and has continued to win an array of admirers in the current campaign.
So highly is he regarded that even the club's directorship admits that he's likely to move on before his deal comes to an end in 2012.
Sky Sports quotes Heldt as saying, "It's unrealistic to think that Mario will stay to the end of his contract in 2012.
"We're not so naive as to think he's going to play his whole career in Stuttgart, although obviously we want to keep him for as long as possible."
The 22-year-old signed his latest deal in the summer of 2007, but could move on to one of the likes of AC Milan, Juventus, Fiorentina, or Spanish champions Real Madrid.

Gomez Agent Confirms Roma Interest
Quote:
Mario Gomez's agent has substantiated reports that AS Roma are closely tracking his star client.
Roma's number one transfer target currently is said to be Amauri, but they are also lining up Gomez in case they get priced out in their bid to sign the Palermo hitman. Being able to land the VfB Stuttgart star's signature is no foregone conclusion, however, as Milan and Juventus are known to be interested in him as well as Amauri..
“It’s true that the Giallorossi are chasing him,” said agent Maurizio Gaudino.
“Mario has a contract with Stuttgart until 2012, but we will make a decision after the European Championships and Italy does have a special charm.
“Of course he is flattered by their interest as Roma are a great club who are going far in the Champions League.
“Mario is also a big fan of Francesco Totti and to play alongside him would be a dream.
“It is an honour to know they are watching him, but he has a number of suitors. Whether a move happens or not depends a lot on whether Stuttgart qualify for next season’s UEFA Cup.”
Gomez, 22, was Player of the Year during Stuttgart's rise to the Bundesliga title last season, and has continued to win an array of admirers in the current campaign.

Agreed. Roma don't have enough €€ to pay the fee VfB would ask, let alone Gomez's wages.

Chelsea To Budge In Line For Gomez?
According to the latest reports out of Germany, coveted VfB Stuttgart striker Mario Gomez is now also a target for Chelsea.
The news will prove deeply unsettling for a trio of Italian clubs, as neither Roma, AC Milan or Juventus are able to match the financial package that the London giants can easily put together for the 22-year-old, who was Player of the Year during Stuttgart's rise to the Bundesliga title last season, and has continued to win an array of admirers in the current campaign.
The powers that be at VfB Stuttgart have already admitted that they are resigned to losing their 'Mister Zuverlassig' (Mr Reliable), and are expected to release him to the highest bidder in the summer even though he still h | | | |
