Lille land Yanes
Quote:
The Columbian Luis Yanes has finally completed his move to Lille.
The forward has admitted it has been a long wait for the transfer from Columbian outfit Independiente Santa Fe, but he is delighted to have the opportunity to play in the UEFA Champions League.
Lille manager Claude Puel has been chasing Yanes for some time and both parties are now happy to have the secured move.
"I have been waiting a long time for this chance because I knew that they had been following me for some time," said Yanes.
"French football is fast and very powerful.
"I have been asking things about my new team and I already know that they have reached the Champions League for the first time."
Yanes has also revealed he has been in contact with fellow Columbian Freddy Guarin, who currently plays for St Etienne, to get an understanding of life in France.
"I have spoken with Freddy and he told me that the French league is for me because they play very fast," said Yanes.
"He also told me that Lille is one of the best teams in France.
"My idea is to start to learn to speak French so I can adapt quickly and give the best of me to my team-mates and the club."
