Mathis agrees move to Sochaux

Mathis, 25, joins coach Frédéric Hantz and defender Bojan Jokic as the third summer arrival at the Stade Bonal. The midfielder made 161 league appearances for Auxerre scoring 13 goals.


"I've decided to put pen to paper on a contract with Sochaux because I consider it a step up," Mathis told his new club's official website. "I came to the end of my contract with Auxerre after seven years and many clubs wanted me but I feel that Sochaux is the place for me."
