Default Radet leaves for Strasbourg

Quote:
After spending 11 seasons with Auxerre, Johan Radet has joined newly-promoted Strasbourg.

The versatile defender felt the time was right for him to move on from the only club he has ever played for and will link up with coach Jean-Marc Furlan following the departure of Jean-Pierre Papin from the Stade de la Meinau.

"I am happy to be experiencing something else, it will let me question myself, maybe make me wake up and give a fresh breath to my career," Radet told L'Yonne Republicaine.

"But I am a little sad. I was happy at Auxerre. I don't need to see if the grass is greener elsewhere.

"I enjoyed good things here: the Champions League, the French Cup and I want to thank the people.

"I plan to come back to my city Auxerre. I have lived there since 1992 and my children were born there so I will keep my house there.

"I am disappointed not to have been able to salute the fans decently. The club told me to leave, that it was the best for me and that they counted on the youngsters. Baptiste Martin replaces me."
