Pujol out as Job jets in
Quote:
Gregory Pujol has confirmed to skysports.com that he is to quit Sedan for Valenciennes, but news of his departure has been tempered by Joseph-Desire Job's decision to extend his stay.
Sedan's relegation has led to inevitable departures and while he has enjoyed his time at Stade Louis-Dugauguez, Pujol has concluded that he would benefit from a fresh challenge.
The former Nantes striker had a bright campaign in scoring nine goals despite Sedan's demise, and he is confident a switch to Valenciennes could rejuvenate his career.
"I haven’t signed yet, as the transfer period will begin next Sunday," Pujol told skysports.com.
"But I am discussing with Valenciennes and we are about to reach an agreement.
"I am pretty excited by this brand new challenge.
"My season is kind of weird, because I am quite happy with my performances, even if I could have done better, and at the same time I feel sad for Sedan's relegation."
Former Middlesbrough striker Job has impressed everyone at Sedan in scoring eight goals in 28 appearances and his decision to stay for a further campaign will be a major fillip, in their bid for an immediate return to Ligue 1.
