....that Zidane was linked to Blackburn Rovers!

Newly crowned Premier League Champions Blackburn were scouting for a young talent. They were linked with a promising youngster named Zinedine Zidane. However, they cancelled the transfer as the manager at the time was quoted as saying:

"Why do we need Zidane, when we've got Tim Sherwood?"

What a mistake indeed! Any other football stories?

probably not true but still a smashing quote.
