Pires to join Fiorentina?
Quote:
Fiorentina are lining up a bid for Arsenal’s Robert Pires, according to reports in Italy on Tuesday.
Viola President Andrea Della Valle has promised Coach Cesare Prandelli renewed transfer funds in January and is a huge admirer of the French midfielder.
Although Pires, whose Arsenal contract runs out at the end of the season, is keen to stay in London, the winger has turned down a one-year contract extension as he wants the security of a two-year deal.
The Gunners, who operate a strict policy with players who are in their thirties, have held firm on the matter and the stylish 32-year-old could well be tempted by a move to Florence.
Fiorentina have been the surprise package in Serie A so far this season.
The Tuscan side are currently third in the table and are in the market for players of experience in order to sustain their push for Champions League football next season.

Fiorentina to strengthen in January? They are up there, and will be shooting for Europe.

I think it all depends on how much they want to offer realy.Pires wont stay now.He has made it clear he won't settle for anything less than a 2 year extension and the club won't offer him that.

I think he'll do well for the Viola. Good for them if they get him.

Fiorentina interested in Kroldrup move
http://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/0...name_page.html
Quote:
FIORENTINA have become the latest team linked with a move for unsettled Everton defender Per Kroldrup.
The Serie A oufit last night joined Bundesliga side Schalke at the front of the queue for the Denmark international, who sources in his homeland claim has failed to adapt to life in England.
Kroldrup has endured a miserable time since his £5million transfer from Udinese in the summer, with his former club and Italian rivals Livorno also interested in signing the 26-year-old.
Should Fiorentina lodge an official bid, Everton manager David Moyes would face a difficult decision on whether to allow the defender to depart, with centre-back Joseph Yobo now on African Nations Cup duty for up to a month.

Fiorentina have made the surprise signing of Everton defender Per Kroldrup for an undisclosed fee.
The Viola have been in the market for a centre-back for some time and were deeply disappointed to lose out on the signing of Nemanja Vidic - who opted to move to Manchester United two weeks ago despite having previously agreed to join the Florence-based side.
Kroldrup signed for Everton from Udinese in the summer for £5.1m, but has been restricted to just one Premiership appearance this term after suffering a catalogue of injuries.
With the Toffees now looking to boost funds to improve their strike-force this month, after the sale of Marcus Bent to Charlton, they agreed to wash their hands of their injury-prone Denmark international.
It was thought that Kroldrup favoured a move to the Bundesliga, with Schalke 04 interested in recruiting the 25-year-old, however it seems the Gigliati have beaten the German outfit to the punch.

Viola lead Liverani race
http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?h...+Liverani+race
Quote:
Fiorentina are thought to be closing in on the signing of Lazio midfielder Fabio Liverani.
Liverani is considering his future with his contract at Lazio due to expire at the end of the season.
Fiorentina are believed to be leading the chase for Liverani's signature as they look to lure him to the Artemio Franchi.
Lazio have been working hard to try and keep him in Rome, but as yet no new deal has been agreed.
Manchester United, Internazionale and Roma have all been credited with an interest in Liverani, but reports emanating from Italy suggest Fiorentina are in pole position to land the talented playmaker.
The Viola are ready to offer the Italian international a long-term contract in a bid to beat their rivals to his signature.
