Fiorentina will have a massive struggle to make CL spot. A Uefa spot looks more in the cards for them next season. Especially with Juve coming back. Juve will be buying quality players in the off season so it makes it that much harder for Fiorentina. Toni will have to decide whether he wants a Uefa spot for the season after next....or a move to a big club in hopes for a CL spot. If he chooses the latter, then he will most likely require a move outside Italy.

Well I can see where you're coming from. Next season Inter, Roma, Juventus, Milan, Palermo and Fiorentina will all be competing for possible only three CL places. That's why I question whether a move is the best thing for him when him and his wife both love living in Florence.

I really don't like the idea of three places in CL...but that's for another day. Do you know if Toni has any kids? Because if he doesn't i'm sure he would move at any time if it meant CL action. Next season will be a blood bath for CL and Uefa...the big clubs you mentioned may end up being satisfied with a Uefa spot at seasons end...

They ARE not going to reduce the number of teams, it aint going to happen lads.
UEFA has to appease the G14, keeping certain teams out of the CL is not in their best interest.

Reducing it to a maximum of three teams per country shouldn't effect any of the G14 if they're as good as they say they are.

One member not making the "grade" is too many for them. That is the whole point of joining an organization is to be show solidarity in this instant for example.

Well what about Dortmund then? Aren't they part of the G14? They haven't been in the CL for ages now.
The G14 means very little to UEFA anyway, I don't believe they're in co-operation.

Not sure if this topic has already been discussed...but it certainly deserves it's own thread?

Well it relates to Platini becoming President of UEFA, I'm not sure whether there's a thread on it.

I hope Jager is right and they don't reduce it to three...the top 4 are still very high quality and can do well in CL. Inter, Roma, and Milan are all still in it. Only Palermo got knocked out.

I believe the CL was created because of the G14.
The G14 believe they have MORE in common with one another, than even teams in their own crountry.
Trust me, eliminating one place is a huge thorn for them.

G14 was very powerful some ages ago.
Now the co-operation has fallen.
Before, whatever G14 said was done.
Now looks they don't have any 'power' at all.

Well, Fiorentina can't win in that competition, that's for sure.
Toni should seriously move if he wants to enjoy CL.

Oh they have power, they meet regularly. Meeting and communicating is enough power if you think about it.

He has no options though, plus his age and Fiorentina's asking price are against him as well.
