For sure, there was a time when nobody wanted Maniche. He was playing in Benfica's B team, at this time he was a winger, because he got into an argument with the board. Mourinho got him, showed him who was the boss and he had a golden 3 year period. What has he done lately? And I understand he is not the same player but he gets into fights all the time, Atletico basically told him he's not wanted, he needs a Mourinho. I wish Quaresma ran into Mourinho a long time ago.

Good post, you raise a great point with Maniche's example.

Ive also always thought that Quaresma just needs a strong personality for him to really flourish and show everything he has. There's a reason why Co Adriaanse was able to get the best of him, he showed Quaresma who was the boss and Quaresma grew about 3 years as a player.

"Well, that was fun... in a fuckin' terrible, sick, not-at-all-fun way."

Ricardo Quaresma: forever a Porto legend. Thank you for all the memories.

Quaresma has definitely grown and he is no cry baby as people may think. I don't wish what happened to him at Barcelona to any player. Imagine being labeled the next Figo not having a proper chance to show you are at least half the player because of a series of problems. I respect the fact that he was able to pick himself up and not give up after that tough time. And if you think that it's easy to do what Quaresma did at that time just take a look at Hugo Viana, he was once voted "Best young European player."

He has reportedly signed already for Inter. This will get negotiated one way or the other, according to speculation.

Mancini is a winger, JM needs a suitable player on the other side, so we can realise our dream of a winged attack, with Zlatan in the middle.

Then Lampard in the middle, with J.Zanetti and Cambiasso as DMs. This formation will have a lot of flexibility. Diamonds or Xmas tree formations....

Well the Portuguese press yesterday reported that the will eventually happen, Porto have apparently settled with 32m € straight cash, no players involved; so I'm hoping Inter accepts paying that fee and get this deal done with it.

It's a very important deal for both teams, you need Quaresma and atm we probably need him to leave.

Maybe Ronaldo needs to learn from Quaresma on how to deal with a transfer situation...You don't see the same stuff from Quaresma that you see from Ronaldo.

I heard something to that affect. I also heard that Riccardo has withdrawn from some sqaud activities, but I can not confirm this. Read it on another forum.

He didn't play in our first friendly at Marienfeld against Gutersloh, because he had just 1 training session, he had just returned from vacation.
Didn't play against PAOK on thursday because he apparently had some fitness issues. He didn't train on the day before the match, so I think it was a legit excuse.

Now he is back and training with the team, we have a match against Hannover tonight, so let's see what happens.

Moratti: We aren't interested in Quaresma, we want an offensive midfielder and not a winger. The player we're looking at is Frank Lampard.

Don't know why Inter want Lampard. Average player.

Quaresma and Mancini on the wings would be stunning.

Jager, don't you think Stankovic will have a place in midfield this season? Far superior player to Fat Frank.
