That's exactly what's gonna happen. As much as I love what PDC has done with Porto, the last thing this beautiful club needs is more controversy than it needs.

Juventus were not relegated for match fixing.

Ha, Carolina Gate
I'm still very confident about our chances, the legal system in Portugal is shit, although everyone knows Pinto da Costa is corrupt, not enough proof will be found.

The Portuguese Superliga is becoming a bush league after Boavista was relegated, but Porto where allowed to keep their Championship. My opinion is both Boavista and Porto should be relegated ..You can't relegate Boavista than slap the wrist of Porto. Either both teams get relegated or both should get a slap on their wrist.

In Portugal’s biggest soccer scandal, FC Porto was deducted six points Friday for trying to bribe referees in two games during the 2003-04 season. The team is headed to a third straight league championship this weekend, and the punishment will not affect its title bid.
The league disciplined two other first-division clubs for attempting to fix league matches. Boavista dropped to the second division and Leiria lost points. All three clubs denied the charges.
Five referees also were found guilty of corruption and drew suspensions ranging from 2 1/2 years to six years.
The punishments take effect within three working days unless they are appealed.
Porto also was fined $230,000 by the league’s disciplinary committee. Club chairman Jorge Pinto da Costa was barred from the bench during games for two years. Porto has a 14-point lead going into Sunday’s final round.
Boavista was fined $278,000 after being found guilty of trying to coerce referees in three games during the 2003-04 season. Joao Loureiro, its chairman at the time, was suspended for four years and fined $39,000.
Leiria was penalized three points and fined $61,700, with its chairman suspended a year.
Porto won one of the two games investigated and played to a tie in the other on its way to clinching the championship under then coach Jose Mourinho.
The charges were taken from a lawsuit brought by Portugal’s public prosecutor against Porto’s chairman for alleged attempted bribery. No date has been set for the trial.
Pinto da Costa has denied the allegations. Mourinho is not mentioned in the league charges or in the lawsuit.
The disciplinary committee questioned 85 people during the investigation and compiled a case file containing almost 1,000 pages.
“We feel we have made a positive contribution to soccer in Portugal,” committee president Ricardo Costa said.

I am embarrassed for Portuguese authorities. What a joke !!!!! Are you kidding me ?????? The biggest joke of all is that the Refs are being suspended longer than the man that committed the crime to begin with. PDC is only getting two years while refs are getting 2 1/2 to 6 years. This is disgusting. I have lost all respect for the Portuguese judicial system and our league. I can no longer take them seriously.

Guys, seriously, think about this for a moment.
It's not the legal system's fault, at least not directly. Porto were accused of 'attempt of match fixing' (not accused of match fixing, because in the match under suspicion, there weren't any favours by the ref), so they were judged on it.
Porto were then found guilty and lost 6 points, along with PDC being suspended for 2 years.
Now, most of you think this is a complete travesty, but in reality, this is the worse punishment possible that Porto could be given.
I'll elaborate:
There is a law for Sports, which says that 'attempt of match fixing' should be punished with a loss of 2 to 6 pts for the team and a suspension of 6 months to 2 years for the sporting agent that commits the crime.
This wasn't decided now, the courts followed the law. Hence, why everyone knew what was the maximum punishment Porto could get, if they were found guilty of 'attempt of match fixing'.
Don't ask me why this law is so soft, it was done ages ago and it's 10 years old at least, but the fact is that the law is like this. Of course, one can argue that it should be changed, but to change the law now because of one case, would be opening a precedent which surely Porto wouldn't let it slide, and would get the sentence revoked.
I hope you guys understand this a bit better now..

That is fine, but it still does not take away from the fact that this law is a joke. Justice is a joke. I am not familiar with the league's rules/charter but could they not address this in their own rules as well. Bud I know this is your team and you must think that I feel this way because it is Porto but I swear this is not the case. What we are talking about hear is the integrity of the game. In my books, what ever team (including Benfica) team is caught doing this should at the vary least be relegated.
