8-0 in Nördlingen
Goals galore in Gerd Müller Stadium opener
Quote:
Gerd Müller was born in the Swabian town of Nördlingen on 3 November 1945. Almost 62 years later, on 19 July 2008, one of the greatest strikers the world has ever seen was suitably honoured by his town of birth with the official renaming of the Rieser Sportpark as the Gerd-Müller-Stadion. "I just think it's tremendous," the town's most famous son commented as he acknowledged the accolade.
The player revered worldwide as 'Der Bomber', the all-time leading scorer both at Bayern and for Germany, was present in person at the renaming ceremony. The clock showed 4.30 pm as the stadium scoreboard displayed the new name for the first time, prompting rapturous applause from the 10,500 capacity crowd.
Lahm and Co still absent
The spectators had come to watch Gerd Müller's latest successors in Bayern's famous red jerseys. Jürgen Klinsmann and his team contested a friendly against local heroes TSV Nördlingen, celebrating their centenary as a football club this year.
Bayern emerged from an entertaining 90 minutes with a routine 8-0 victory against the side relegated from the seventh footballing tier last term, but although his men failed to score a consolation goal, TSV coach Norbert Brandt will not have been unhappy afterwards. "Anything under double figures will rate as a success," he said beforehand.
FCB in 3-4-3 formation
As previously announced, Klinsmann declined to select the seven stars who only returned from Euro 2008 duties last Thursday. José Sosa (pre-Olympics training) and Zé Roberto (family bereavement) were also excused. By contrast, Lucio, Martin Demichelis and Willy Sagnol made first pre-season warm-up appearances after sitting out last week's 7-1 win against Lippstadt.
Making the most of the players available to him, Klinsmann sent out his side in an unusual 3-4-3 formation. Mark van Bommel, named captain in Lippstadt and again asked to lead the team in Nördlingen, opened the scoring, with Joseph Ngwenya and Andreas Ottl stretching the advantage before half-time. Gerd Müller's namesake Thomas was forced to quit the action with injury after just half an hour to be replaced by fellow reserve starlet Deniz Yilmaz.
Müller alongside Klinsmann
The youngster now showed off the instinctive scoring skills which made Gerd Müller so famous, striking a brace to make the score 5-0 shortly after the interval, before Demichelis put his side six clear. Ngwenya also added a second of his own, before Yimaz completed his hat-trick and rounded off the scoring for the day with Bayern's eighth. A relaxed and cheerful Gerd Müller enjoyed the free-scoring action from his seat alongside Jürgen Klinsmann in the dug-out.
TSV Nördlingen - Bayern Munich 0-8 (H-T: 0-3)
Bayern Munich: Rensing - Lucio, Van Buyten, Demichelis - Sagnol, Van Bommel (Ekici 75), Ottl, Lell - Thomas Müller (Yilmaz 30), Ngwenya, Kroos
Referee: Lothar Ostheimer (Petersthal)
Spectators: 10,500 (capacity)
Goals: 1-0 Van Bommel, 2-0 Ngwenya, 3-0 Ottl, 4-0 Yilmaz, 5-0 Yilmaz, 6-0 Demichelis, 7-0 Ngwenya, 8-0 Yilmaz

Nice, very nice. .. Here's the full match report:
Quote:
11-1 in Amberg
Gala display to mark Nabburg's big day
Back in early February, when Bayern general manager Uli Hoeneß announced over the stadium PA ahead of the Bundesliga encounter with Werder Bremen that the Nabburg Fan Club had won this year's annual 'dream fixture' against the Bayern senior side, the Upper Palatinate region began celebrating the spectacular event to come.
The great day finally arrived on Sunday, as 14,000 spectators crammed into the terraces and temporary stands at the Amberg stadium to witness Bayern play live. It was definitely worth the effort, as Jürgen Klinsmann's side ran up their first double-figure score of the pre-season period with an 11-1 victory against a Fan Club XI strengthened with a number of helpers from the fourth, fifth and sixth divisions.
Lell shows the way
Christian Lell set the men from Munich on their way with the fifth-minute opener, before Deniz Yilmaz doubled the advantage ten minutes later. Bayern were a trifle careless with their chances for a spell after that and were duly punished on 26 minutes when 35-year-old Alexander Götz pulled one back. That was to prove a consolation strike, albeit at an early stage in the match, for a Nabburg side represented at various points in the game by more than 20 players.
Mark van Bommel (38), Martin Demichelis (42) and trialist Joseph Ngwenya (43) made sure FCB pulled comfortably clear before the interval, and the margin could have been considerably greater had it not been for a number of good saves by sixth-division keeper Stefan Wiederer.
Kroos tops scoring charts
The goals continued to rattle in after the break, with two of Bayern's Euro 2008 stars - Hamit Altintop (62) and Lukas Podolski (86) – adding their names to the scoresheet. Bastian Schweinsteiger failed to emulate his team-mates as his 60th-minute penalty was saved by new Nabburg keeper Florian Frischholz. Despite this, the 14,000 at the ground continued to bellow out "Schweniiie“ and "Poldiiie“ cries throughout the match.
With Klinsmann also making five changes at half-time, the first man in red to hit the target after the interval was Toni Kroos. The 18-year-old grabbed a quick-fire brace (52, 58) to make the score 7-1 and later completed his hat-trick (68) with Bayern's ninth to finish top individual scorer on the day. The tenth goal was supplied by Demichelis, before Podolski's concluding effort four minutes from time.
Fanklub Nabburg - Bayern Munich 1-11 (H-T: 1-5)
Bayern Munich: Rensing (Kraft 46) - Lucio, Van Buyten, Demichelis - Sagnol (Altintop 46), Van Bommel (Schweinsteiger 46), Ottl, Lell (Ekici 46) - Yilmaz (Podolski 46), Ngwenya, Kroos
Spectators: 14,000

Fan Club Nabburg match report
I am surprised to see the NT boys played though (Poldi, Schweini.. weren't they all supposed to stay home?).
We have much more serious tests onwards, and wins in those definately taste much better.

Here are some short videos from the 11-1 win.
YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.
There is a video of Schweini missing the penalty. He tried to do it like Ribéry.
