Bayern To Barca: Forget Ribery
Bayern Munich have set Franck Ribéry's transfer status to 'indispensable to the club', according to Sport.

Quote:
Reports emanating from Spain on Sunday suggested that Barcelona's incoming boss, Josep Guardiola, is a keen admirer of Ribéry's qualities, and that he would be delighted to have him in the midfield sector of his squad.

The Frenchman, who arrived from Olympique Marseille for a fee worth €28 million, has been one of Bayern's stand out players, having played a crucial role in his side's Bundesliga and German Cup achievements.

Many top clubs have been eyeing the French winger, but the Bavarians are keen to keep one of their main stars in the team as they plan on mounting a serious Champions League challenge upon their return to Europe's elite competition.

Bayern have reportedly told Barcelona's Director of Football, Txiki Begiristain, that their star has no price and that he is not up for sale nor for trade.

Ribéry, meanwhile, is said to be unhappy with his club's posture, as he would very much like to know Barcelona's terms.

However, Bayern have reportedly promised him that the club's goal is to strengthen the squad in order to win the Champions League, a trophy he has not lifted as of yet.

Ribery will now have a one-week vacation period before joining the French squad for Euro 2008.

I agree that Bayern have set Ribery to indespensible, I couldn't believe they even had any kind of price tag on him before. After this season, I would never get rid of him -- he IS the next Zidane and more. Nonetheless, if Ribery apparently turned down going to Barca, Chelsea or anyone else before when he signed for Bayern, then why now? Look at all the problems Barca have had, and I doubt they are just going to magically do well now.

Juventus is looking for a new midfielder, the new target could be Bastian Schweinsteiger (23), from Bayern Munchen. The German player has some problems with his club.

Italian teams were linked with Schweini earlier, particularly Inter and Juventus.

Don't know if there is any truth in those reports, but the club has just said that they expect Schweini to extend the contract.

So, Juve or whoever should set another target.

Karlsruhe are interested in signing Toni Kroos on loan, if Jürgen Klinsmann doesn't have him in his plans for next season.

They are seeking a young and dynamic player, and for them, Kroos is the perfect solution.

Interesting, it depends, whether he is mature enough to play in the CL.

But If we are not going to bring new faces this year, we might need him in the league, Cup or even CL, Imagine Altintop or Sosa injured, we will definitely use him as a sub.

I don't have an opinion about this, cause I want him to develop rapidly, I don't I mind where .

what you guys think ?

I think it would be a good move, Kroos would get enough playing time to develop all his qualities and then return a much better player. Plus we can give more chances to Sosa if there's less competition.

The big question is how much JK plans to use him ... If he's going to get consistent time - or is next in line at any position - then he must stay. Considering BM's depth in midfield, it probably wouldn't hurt to send him out for a year. But I'd rather have him around, just in case.

I agree. Babbel and Lahm are pretty good examples there. It helped both become better players and learn to take responsibility.

If i had to suggest a club i would say Karlsruhe or Hoffenheim. or maybe cologne. all play offensive football and could need a spark in the midfield
