Podolski Loves Roma & Italy - Agent

The agent of Bayern Munich star Lukas Podolski has opened up the road to the Italian capital by admitting that his client loves Roma.

Roma are well known to be in the market for a new attacker, following the exit of Amantino Mancini to Inter. The club’s primary target had been Adrian Mutu, but after a deal appeared to be on the cards, Fiorentina pulled the plug at the last moment.

The Giallorossi have been linked with a whole host of other attackers, including Julio Baptista and Djibril Cisse, but both it seems will not be arriving at the Stadio Olimpico.

Another player whose name has been associated this summer is Bayern Munich’s Lukas Podoslki. The 23-year-old’s future at the Allianz Arena has been called into question recently, with the press consistently claiming that a summer transfer could be on the cards.

The forward joined Bayern from Cologne in 2006, however things have not really worked out for him in Bavaria, and he spent most of last season in the shadows of Luca Toni and Miroslav Klose.

However, a superb Euro 2008 with Germany has reminded everyone of his ability, and a number of Italian clubs, including Roma and Juventus, have been linked with making a move for him.

"At the moment we don't want to comment on the situation of Lukas Podolski,” the player's agent Kon Schramm told Laromasiamonoi.it after being asked about the possibility of a transfer to Roma.

“But we especially like Italy and Rome. Obviously as a city (laughing)."

Podolski was in fine form for Bayern today as he bagged a hat-trick in a 4-2 friendly win over Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds.

Agents make money with selling their players. Let's asume Roma buys Poldi for 30 millions. Considering Bayern wanted to buy Gomez for that sum, Poldi would still be a bargain deal. The little agent sucker will get 3 mio euros out of the deal. No wonder he has an interest to talk shit.

Anyway. Poldi will have a great season for sure so screw all the nonsense of him leaving. And seeing that this comes from an italian newspaper, it's highly likely that they made that one up in the first place...

Juventus Ready To Pounce For Schweinsteiger

Juventus are currently on standby and ready to swing into action for Bayern Munich star Bastian Schweinsteiger according to Tuttosport.

The Bianconeri have been after a decent midfielder all summer and they have already been linked with the German.

Liverpool’s Xabi Alonso was set to arrive in Turin but this never happened.

Juve have always kept their options open and transfer guru, Alessio Secco, revealed how the club would be signing some more players by the end of August.

Tuttosport claims the Bianconeri are ready to wheel and deal for Schweinsteiger as the midfielder still hasn’t managed to renew his contract with the Bundesliga champions.

However, if the move for the Bayern man fails, Juve will turn their attentions to Ivan Rakitic of Schalke.

Toni Coming Back To Fiorentina - Della Valle

Fiorentina president Andrea Della Valle believes Luca Toni will return to La Viola soon.

The Bayern Munich hit-man enjoyed a brilliant first season in Germany where he led the team to lifting the Bundesliga.

Della Valle wants his old hit-man to return to the Artemio Franchi and he is confident of such a possibility.

“Why are contracts worth so much apart from in football,” Della Valle told GQ.

“It happened to us with Toni but he understood straightaway to renounce the money which was offered to him by Inter.

“I will tell him, he is earning more than anything at Bayern but he will return to us in a couple of years.”

Toni scored 47 goals in 67 games for Fiorentina before securing an €11m move to Bayern last year.

The Viola have been strengthening well this summer and they have spent no less than €35m on new transfers.

Alberto Gilardino arrived from Milan for €14m and he is being tipped as the ‘new’ Toni.

I think that he can play in the first team, Raul and nisterloy are too old, and Real searching for the a younger talented striker to replace their curent strikers. Podolski would be great for them.

Real Madrid Eye Podolski For January

Real Madrid are currently looking at the possibility of signing Bayern Munich striker Luca Podolski during the January transfer window according to Marca.

The German international has already come close to swapping the Bundesliga for the Primera Division and he is admired by Los Blancos coach Bernd Schuster.

Podolski has already asked the German side to leave as he is not getting much playing time in the Allianz Arena.

Jurgen Klinsmann is sticking with Luca Toni and Miroslav Klose up front this season, therefore it is highly unlikely that the Polish-born hit-man will get much chance to shine this term.

Marca claims that the Santiago Bernabeu club are planning to pounce and make their move as soon as the European player market opens its doors to it’s new sales in January.

Podolski is a proven striker at both club and international level and reports suggest that Real may secure his services for around €12m.

However, there is one problem which may cause the Spanish side reconsider their options.

The striker will not be eligible to play for Los Merengues in the Champions League if he plays in that competition for Bayern from now until January.

In any case, Real are likely to prepare the cash and give their coach a late Christmas present.

Can't see him as regular this season. Van Nistelrooy still one of the best strikers on this earth. Raul is Raul unfortunately with his punch card.

Gonzalo Higuain, very popular and a very exciting striker....maybe hotter than Podolski at the moment while Javier Saviola also still in the club.

Can't see why Madrid shall use much money on Podolski. But is he a good winger?
