BAYERN MUNCHEN, Mutu temptation
Quote:
Adrian Mutu could leave Fiorentina. The Romanian striker, despite the possible Champions qualification of Viola, is lured by an important offer, coming from a great European team. Bayern Munchen must invest money with the target to come back to win in Europe, and are thinking to Mutu.
Fiorentina with the money of Mutu sale, would engage Alberto Gilardino, evaluated 18 millions by Milan, despite viola offer of 16 million.

Enough? Are you kidding me? We only have three attackers now: Toni, Klose, Podolski.
We need another striker. I wouldn't mind Mutu coming.

You think Poldi has problems breaking in with Toni and Klose, Mutu would end up keeping Poldi on the bench. Although it would be cool to have him, he is a starter -- unlike Schlaudraff -- yet we couldn't even keep Schlaudraff. Everyone talks of buying a fourth striker, but think of who would be happy to play for the first team and not mind a subs role -- hmmmmm, that would be a youngster from the reserves. We should promote from the reserves and fill in that gap. This way Toni, Klose and Poldi can dominate majority of the time and if any one of them get injured then the sub can take his chances. I doubt Bayern want a repeat of Schlaudraff and drop over a million Euros for a player to be a sub.

Now that the Gattuso deal would be dead after he signed on at Milan for additional 3 years (which I can't see why as they are in the UEFA cup and we are now in the Champions League, what a switch!), should we get another DM? what is everyone's thoughts? I started to like the idea of Gattuso, although I still had reserved feeling about another DM, as ZeRo is looking as sharp as ever and will be great in his last year for the club, and we have MvB and Borowski as well who can fill that role. With Klinsmann coming in you can almost expect a change in tactics to something like an attacking diamond midfield - meaning only one DM with an AM. Ribery or Schweini could fill the AM role and the role to the left wide -- but what about getting a more attack minded player in midfield? I guess we do have Sosa, Altintop and Kroos who could fill various roles as well. Anyway, I just thought we would get a little discussion going, since the forum has become stale and it seems like we are all waiting for the latest bogus crap from Goal.com -- so I would rather us try and form a good transfer target to discuss or start rumours about.

I'm a little disappointed Gattuso is off the market. I really would have liked to have him here.
However, we NEED to sign one more world class player to make a serious push in the CL. I'm really not to concerned what position he plays (although the midfield seems like the likely place), we just need one more huge signing.
I'm not certain what options are out there, but with Ribery/Schwini playing CAM/LM respectively, the DM and RM should be our main focus.
That being said, what has happened with De Rossi?
Who else is available (or has been linked with Bayern)?

If Gattuso is really a lost battle, then I think we should get M.Diarra of Real Madrid. Really a phenomenal DM.
-----
Sport Bild has put up a gallery of the players who could sign for Bayern in the summer, together with their price.
- Andrea Barzagli. (CB)
He's valued 14.5 million euros, has a contract with Palermo until 2012.
- Daniele De Rossi. (DM)
He's valued 30 mill, has a contract with Roma until 2009.
- Mahamadou Diarra. (DM)
He's valued 18 mill, has a contract with Real Madrid until 2011.
- Marouane Fellaini. (DM)
He's valued 6.5 mill, has a contract with Standard Lüttich until 2012.
- Paulo Andrés Ferrari. (RB)
He's valued 6.5 mill, plays for River Plate.
- Younes Kaboul. (CB)
He's valued 8 mill, has a contract with Tottenham until 2012.
- Kasey Keller. (GK)
Could come for little money from Fulham, less than 1 mill.
- Mark Schwarzer. (GK)
He's valued 4 mill, but could come free, as his contract with Middlesbrough runs out this summer.

Doesn't AC Milan also want M.Diarra? I thought they were closing in on him. De Rossi would be great, but I doubt he would leave Roma. Barzagli would come to Bayern over Wolfsburg, although I was surprised about Zaccardo. With Lahm and even Sagnol set to stay, I am not sure about getting any LB or RB players. It would be interesting seeing an American at Bayern with Keller, but Schwarzer is too much money to be a backup. Any others?

It was reported Milan was after Diarra (but it wasn't sure if Gatts were staying though). Now, I doubt they need him, since Gatts will stay there.
As for De Rossi, I think he is just overrated. Barzagli - we don't need him.

We have been linked with Frey, again. But it won't happen. The board has many times that Rensing will be our No.1
