Bayern Offer Sagnol For Oddo

According to La Repubblica, Bayern Munich have offered AC Milan Willy Sagnol in a straight swap for Massimo Oddo.

French full-back Sagnol had a miserable past season with Bayern, where he lost his first team place and fell out with coach Ottmar Hitzfeld, publicly blasting him in the press on a number of occasions.

Despite the fact that Hitzfeld has now left to be replaced by Jurgen Klinsmann, the 31-year-old’s future with the Bavarian giants is still very uncertain, and it is widely believed that they are keen to offload him.

La Repubblica says that Bayern have offered Sagnol to Milan in a straight swap for another right back Massimo Oddo. The World Cup winner also had a disappointing season, disrupted by bouts of injuries and poor form, which resulted in him missing out on a place in Italy's Euro 2008 squad.

Milan are said to be now considering the offer, however they are also reportedly weighing up a bid for Sampdoria wing back Christian Maggio, and so this could have a big bearing on whether the Sagnol-Oddo deal goes through.

Gamberini Not Moving To Bayern – Agent

The agent of Fiorentina defender Alessandro Gamberini has rubbished talk that his client could be set for a summer move to Bayern Munich.

Gamberini was one of the best defenders in Serie A last season, and his impressive performances played a big role in the Viola finishing fourth and qualifying for the Champions League.

German giants Bayern Munich are well known to be in the market for a centre back, and there have been reports that they are considering making a move for Gamberini.

However the 26-year-old’s agent has rubbished these rumours.

“I can say that there has been no contact with Bayern and I actually heard the rumour from you for the first time,” agent Francesco Romano told Tuttomercatoweb.it.

“There is nothing to report, but of course it is flattering to hear that such a club are interested in my client.

“To reiterate, Alessandro is happy in Florence and his future is there.”

Gamberini is currently in Austria and Switzerland with the Italy Euro 2008 squad, but he could be on his way back home tomorrow if they are eliminated tonight.

“How is Gamberini’s Azzurri adventure going? I spoke to him briefly, but we will talk properly after he gets back. I can say that it has been a great experience and we are obviously hoping that Italy get through,” Romano concluded.
