BAYERN MUNCHEN, Interest for Zarate

Quote:
Though the difficult moment, Bayern Muenchen are already thinking at the next market window, considering that Lukas Podolski will probably leave. The first two names in Juergen Klinsmann's shortlist seem to be Zenit's Pavel Pogrebnyak and Lazio's Mauro Zarate.

Don't know Zarate. Don't follow Italian football.

Can someone give some insight about him?

He's latley been a hit with Lazio. Good technical left footed(i think) player. But Lazio want to sign him on a permanent deal.

Gomez Denies Pre-Contract With Bayern

Quote:
German international striker Mario Gomez has vehemently denied media reports that he has signed a pre-contract with Bayern Munich.

The Stuttgart forward, who is widely expected to leave the club at the end of the current season, has denied the story, adding that he is happy at the Swabian club and may even consider staying a further year.

“That is definitely false” Gomez stated to Spiegel Online in response to speculation that he already had a pre-agreement to join the Bavarian giants. He didn’t however totally rule out a possible eventual move to the Allianz Arena.

“It’s clear that that could be an option for the future” he admitted, but stresses that he was more than happy at the Mercedes-Benz Arena and wouldn’t rule out staying for another season under Armin Veh.

“If Stuttgart continue to use their veto against a transfer next summer, then I’ll accept that” Gomes said.

“For me it is very important that everything fits and it does here in Stuttgart- the like me there.”

The 2007 Footballer of the Year has a contract at the club that expires in 2012.

Is this the same kind of denial Klose gave back when we had a supposed pre-contract with him -- hmmmmmm.... makes you wonder.

I sure as hell would rather have Gomez than Poldi, for the reasons that Gomez may not currently have great form for the NT but he has great form for his club Stuttgart -- while Poldi has great form for the NT, but crap form for Bayern. Plus Gomez is a similar striker to Toni, large and powerful and plays the Box really well, and will fit into our system of things -- while Poldi just doesn't seem to fit into Bayern's system. Its just my opinion though.
