Dude. I wanna know what the HELL Hitz was thinking when he came up with this line-up.

Glad to see Podolski showing what he's got. I really wanna burn Hitz car if he doesn't start Podolski next game. He's in really good form.

Klose is shit right now. I struggle to understand why Hitz doesn't see this.

At least everyone in the Bundesliga had a bad day. Glad this draw won't haunt us.

Pissed off though, that we couldn't win. We could have extended our lead taking the fact that others slipped today.

Default Hitzfeld: We Had a Bad Day

Quote:
Bayern didn’t have things all their own way at the easycredit Stadion against Nürnberg in the 50th Bundesliga derby between the two sides, and Ottmar Hitzfeld admitted afterwards that his side had had a bad day.

Hitzfeld believes that the midweek international break adversely affected his side as they looked second best for large periods in the game before eventually claiming a draw.

Zvejezdan Misimovic put the home side in front after 44 minutes, but Lukas Podolski rescued a point for the league leaders with an equaliser nine minutes from the end.

“We had a bad day” the Bayern trainer admitted after the final whistle. “The national team players came back very tired and found today very difficult. Ribéry was one of the most tired players on the pitch” he explained.

“You could see just how much energy those internationals had taken out of the players. However, we didn’t combine well and had a number of weaknesses.

“For the opening goal we had a total black-out. At half time I was very annoyed and told the players they couldn’t run 2km more for their national sides than for us. It’s just not on.”

Bayern President Franz Beckenbauer was equally disappointed, but was glad of the point gained in difficult circumstances.

“It is never easy in Nürnberg. It is a local derby and a year ago we lost here 3-0. So compared with that it was an improvement” ‘der Kaiser’ opined.

“The second half was much better than the first. The team lost their advantage in the game after 10 or 15 minutes, but in the second period we improved and the substitutes contributed to the fact that we didn’t lose the game.”

Nürnberg trainer Thomas von Heesen was however left disappointed not to have taken all three points and secured his first win in charge.

“We saw today from our team what we expect in our situation. At the end of the day we were not fully rewarded for our performance because we switched off once.

“But the way they played with self confidence and courage against Bayern shows that we are on the right path.”

HAHA I'll help you and bring the gas to torch hitzs car.

Seriously it really only got better after those 3 subs. We had a few chances then but the first 60 mins was completly our messed line up. The worst I've seen for bayern since the stuttgart game. Those two are an example on how to NOT do it.

I can only explain this with the NT games during the week. All the lower teams did good today cuase they had all week to prepare. the big guys all looked very tired to me...
Only explanation i have. Even more of a reason to bring on a good line up not pure shit

Well today was not a day for any of the Bundesliga top five team supporters... that is the BEST of the news... hence, Bayern are not hurt by their lackluster performance today.

The draw was justified as Bayern were searching desperatly all game for the equalizer - I don't think it is fair to say Bayern don't deserve the win - come on! This is füssball and this is how things happen. No one team can claim they are amazing this year in any league of worth this season... ie. Real Madrid's mid season slump, the latest mess at the top of the Premiership, etc, etc. Bayern is no different - every team is out to knock them off in the Bundesliga and thus give them their best match typically. Bayern simply are doing what they need to do to survive while in the running for 3 trophies, even when they are playing not up to snuff. Good teams find ways to grind out a result in those instances. We saw a great example of that today. So at some point, we fans have to be watching a game like this and say "looks like one of those days for Bayern" and be satisfied in carving out a late draw. I just don't get the whole we-need-to-be-amazing-every-match mentality. That is so unrealistic in füssball.

Yeah, Bayern did not have it all today. No finishing, no refined consistant passing, not impregnable defense, but some stellar goalkeeping. We definitely missed two players that have added some stability of late - Demichelis, and Ailtontop.

In a nutshell, you win at home, and draw on the road. You follow that principle and I guarantee you finish in the top 3 EVERY year in the Bundesliga. Trust me. Occasionally, you sneak 3 points on the road to make up for those once-in-a-blue-moon fockups at home.

Not rocket science. We simply call it Bayern Düsel - when Bayern is pulling a Bayern, the rest of the league is doing its best to help cushion the fall.
Thank you to all those teams helping the cause today.

Default ‘We were incredibly weary’ | Reds relieved as rivals fail to capitalise

Bayern played poorly and narrowly avoided a third league defeat of term on Saturday, but still ended the weekend in upbeat spirits. A 1-1 draw in the Bavarian derby away to 1. FC Nürnberg turned out worth its weight in gold on matchday 26, as none of the Reds’ title rivals won either and the men from Munich maintained their seven-point lead in the standings.

“Given the way we dropped our guard, it’s obviously terrific we’ve actually ended up as winners,” reflected Bayern general manager Uli Hoeneß after the 50th Bundesliga battle with FCN in front of a 46,780 full house at the World Cup stadium in Nuremberg. With eight games to go, five of them at home, FCB are now in a “fantastic position,” continued Hoeneß, “it was a perfect matchday. We’re delighted nothing’s happened.“

Misfiring Reds

Coach Ottmar Hitzfeld was equally pleased with the weekend results, which included draws for Hamburg and Schalke, and unexpected home defeats for Bremen and Leverkusen. “It’s turned out as well as it could do for us,” the General reasoned, before moving swiftly on to a critical analysis of his own team’s performance. “It was a turgid display. We were poor, we were very poor,” he said, singling out one particular reason for his side’s lacklustre showing: “I had the feeling many of our internationals were totally exhausted.“

Seven of the starting eleven represented their countries in midweek, “and they never got going today. Ribéry was one of the most tired players on the pitch. It was obvious we were incredibly weary from the midweek internationals.“ FCB started energetically enough and might have taken the lead through Luca Toni after just 13 seconds, “but we misfired after that. It was obvious we were lacking freshness.“

FCN’s deserved opener

Hoeneß shared the coach’s opinion. “The players are all fighting for places in their national teams and got totally stuck in on Wednesday. We saw the consequences of that today.“ Second-from-bottom Nürnberg slowly but surely cast off their initial respect for their more illustrious neighbours and took a not undeserved 44th-minute lead through Zvjezdan Misimovic.

“Their opener was still a bolt from the blue,” Hitzfeld raged, angry at “amateurish defending” which opened the way for the former Munich man’s strike: “We dozed off completely.“ Hitzfeld pulled no punches in the dressing room at the interval: “I was angry at half-time, because players can’t be putting in one or two kilometres more for their countries than for us.“ That and the introduction of Lukas Podolski gave Bayern a much more threatening look up front.

Happy ending

The reward finally came nine minutes from time in the shape of Podolski’s first Bundesliga goal in nearly a year. “It was difficult today. Nürnberg played well, they were aggressive and covered lots of ground. It was as tough as we expected, but that’s a derby for you,” remarked the goalscorer, “I hope I can keep it up now.“

Once the results from around the grounds came in, the mood in the Bayern camp perked up considerably. “In the final analysis, the result was acceptable to both sides,” Hoeneß reckoned. Hitzfeld was also happy enough with the point: “We definitely deserved the draw, so we can be satisfied with that.“
