^ Stephan is absolutely correct. All these other bundesliga teams (and other euro teams) are giving chances to young keepers. Rensing needs to start now if he is to turn out like Kahn. Kahn was even young when he was a great starting keeper. Yep -- bayern need to get some No.2 somewhere that knows he is a No.2

I don't think thats a good example tbh mate.. Avram Grant hasn't really impressed since taking over Chelsea. see this thread, Grant your thoughts so far? , specially that post.

Anyway, I'm sure we'll hear something from the Bayern board soon, they need to start planning the next season and this goalkeeper situation is IMO one of the main points they need to address.

Buy another one....Neuer and Adler are the goalkeeping German future.

They both have been fantastic during all of season games. What Neuer has done tonight and also in the first game against Porto is undescriptional.
He is Amazing! I would love to see him joing Bayern

Don't forget all his insecuritys during the season. He is slowly beginning to find his form again. But he needs to prove that he can maintain it for a long time.

I agree with Dragoen.

Yes that was sensational last night what Neuer did. And it is brilliant to see that he can be this great in really important matches. But for a goalie consistency is the most important factor. And that's something a 21 year old will just get with games. He is one of the most talented goalies around but he still needs at least 2-3 years of experience in my eyes

But over the whole season other Goalies have been more consistent.
Mainly Adler who has yet to make a single mistake this season. Or Wiese from Bremen who mainly suffers from the very offensive way Bremen plays in his stats.

The other goalie Frank Rost who is currently named by Kahn as the best german goalie I do not rate so highly tbh. He profits a lot from the best defensive team in the league in my eyes and he had several scenes this season where he looked not convincing in my eyes...

Oh and no Bayern will not sign either of the above mentioned goalies. They will give Rensing a chance. BUT if he let's say makes 3-4 huge errors in the first games of the season I can see Bayern buy a top goalie in the winter break. That's the only way this will happen

^Yep -- Bayern will buy if Rensing is making too many mistakes, but hopefully he won't. It would be nice to see Rensing look like Adler and Neuer -- and obviously the management are aware of this as well. Today's game in the UEFA Cup will even have Kraft as backup -- so this might be the things to come. Hopefully Rensing silences his critics this season with every game he plays.

Eric is perfect with his assessment of the other goalies in the bundesliga.

Quote:
Kaiserslautern goalkeeper Florian Fromlowitz will play for Hannover 96 next season, it has been announced. The signing has increased speculation that current keeper Robert Enke could be on his way to Bayern Munich

21-year-old Fromlowitz, who made 12 Bundesliga appearances for FCK before their relegation in 2006, had long been tipped for a move away from the Fritz-Walter-Stadion this summer in order to secure football at a higher level.

The highly rated goalie had been linked with Wolfsburg but yesterday it was revealed he'd signed for the Wolves' Lower Saxony rivals Hannover.

In For Enke?

He will move to the AWD-Arena on a free transfer in the summer, signing a contract through to 2011. "I'm not here to warm the bench," he said upon signing the deal. "But Robert Enke is one of the best goalies in Germany, I know. I really hope I can benefit from him. I'm young and will give it my all."

Officially Fromlowitz has been signed as the No2 goalkeeper, but according to Bild he could be starting next season as No1 - with Enke moving on to Bayern Munich.

Incoming Bayern boss Jürgen Klinsmann is already piecing together plans for summer transfer activity and the former German national coach is said to be keen on luring Enke to the Allianz Arena - that despite sporting director Uli Hoeneß und chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge making clear that 23-year-old Michael Rensing would be the successor to the soon-to-retire Oliver Kahn.

Yesterday in Munich Klinsmann introduced a new goalkeeper coach, Walter Junghaus, who previously was involved at a Benfica side of which Enke was captain. For his part, Enke is determined to become Germany's first choice keeper after this summer's Euro 2008, something he is far more likely to achieve in the colours of Bayern than Hannover. He is under contract at Hannover until 2010 but agent Jörg Neblung did little to dismiss an impending move. "I can't rule out anything in this business," he told Bild.

Hmm.. I have mixed thoughts on this. What do you guys think?

He's not a bad goalie at all, but he's a bit unproven with big teams and European stage.

My vote still goes for Hilario, from Chelsea, as our No.2 keeper.

If we're looking for a No.1, then I'd go for Adler or Frey.

But if Klin's aiming for Enke for No.1, he's way off.

Frey is overrated imo. Adler is a great talent but still I preffer Rensing as our number 1.

Ok then I guess I have to see him again with Fiorentina, but when I saw him with France he was clueless.

Nooo! You shouldn't rate someone by one performance.

Watch him goalkeeping for Fiorentina every week.

Frey is a great keeper, but he isn't a bench player, so if the board at Bayern are sticking with Rensing as No1 then Frey will not happen, plus he is expensive. No way on Enke as well, we all know Goal.com is full of shit so why does everyone continue to post stories here. I guess it makes for good discussion. Anyway, if we get a No2 somewhere else, then it will be someone who we don't expect. Remember that Klinsmann is having alot of say on who he wants, and he also wants Rensing as No1. I think Klinsmann hopes Rensing turns into another Adler story.
