Also I don't get why you hate Bommel so much, when you probably saw what happened when we played without him in Stuttgart. Ze just "needs" him and he is a great leader but shouldn't be given the captain's armband as he starts to show-off more than focus on his playing.

What if he was MOTM against Inter? The season is not just a match, or two.
You can't compare Ottl to Borowski, that's it.
And who said I hate van Bommel? LOL. I'm one of the guys who support MVB. You're new here, what do you know? When someone would put doubts over MVB signing, I was here to support him. He certainly was our best player last season.

You said Ottl wasn't good enough for the CL and I just gave you examples of two of the most important CL games last season where Ottl started and was brilliant. I'm not saying he's better than Borowski so don't make up things I didn't say.
And who said the Bommel thing was about you? Kahn is the one who wrote he should be sold.

Effenberg: "You know that Borowski kid from Bremen looks a wee bit like me... same size, build, needs to work on the demeanor a bit, perhaps a new hairstylist... can he play?"
Hitzfeld: "Not when he is injured".
Effenberg: "Ah, so then he will just be like another Hargreaves, no?"
Hitzfeld: "Yah, only much less Canadian"

It is officially confirmed now. Tim Borowski will be wearing the number 24 shirt.
He used to have this number at Werder Bremen aswell.

New signing Borowski mentally ready for FCB
Quote:
Tim Borowski reported for his first day at Bayern on Thursday morning to find his locker situated next to Hans-Jörg Butt, the club's only other summer signing so far. Like the number two keeper, 28-year-old Borowski also hails from the north of Germany, but their positions next to each other in the dressing room were entirely coincidental.
However, it is absolutely no coincidence that Borowski has opted to follow a number of outstanding seasons at Werder Bremen with a switch to Bayern. "After twelve years in Bremen, I was looking for a new challenge," Borowski reported on his first day at the Säbener Strasse. "I want to win medals and celebrate triumphs," the man capped 33 times by Germany stated when asked why he had chosen Munich.
Reunion with Klinsmann
With the decision to leave Werder already taken at the end of the season before last, events moved swiftly once FCB had declared an interest. "Bayern are one of the best clubs in the world. I don't think you should be mulling it over for long if offered the chance to come here," commented Borowski, assigned the squad number 24 at his new club.
The appointment of Jürgen Klinsmann as new Munich coach merely confirmed the midfielder had made the right decision. "You obviously take something like that as the icing on the cake. Naturally, I was happy and began looking forward to the challenge even more," remarked the player, a Germany squad regular during Klinsmann's spell at the national helm.
Improving on last term
The newcomer is bristling with determination. "We should set ourselves the goal of doing better than last season," Borowski declared. That would mean not only retaining the domestic double, but also going as far as possible in the Champions League. "We want to give a good account of ourselves internationally.“
Borowski is hoping to be "a major component“ of a successful season, despite the fierce battle for places at the club. "You have that everywhere, although the pressure might be a little heavier here. I knew about it before I signed, and I'm ready for it. I'll accept the fight and I'm looking forward to it.“
Infused with Bayern genes
The mifielder does not yet know exactly where he fits into Klinsmann's plans. "My versatility has always been a plus. I can play in the centre, but I've also proved I can operate out wide.“ In any case, he was feeling "really good and top fit. I'm looking forward to getting going.“ He felt himself absorbing the oft-quoted Bayern genes on his very first day: "You sense it the minute you arrive.“
The player who describes himself as a "level-headed, family man“ has already sorted out his private life in Munich, taking a house with wife Lena and daughter Emilia in "the lovely district to the south-west of Munich“. His three-week vacation after the Euro 2008 final had been spent almost entirely in the Bavarian capital, "to settle in, and get to know the city and the people.“ Tim Borowski certainly knows his place and his priorities.

Welcome to München, Tim!
I doubt he will get a starting spot, but I expect him to be very useful as a sub.

Borowski making progress
Quote:
Tim Borowski also missed the Erfurt clash with a ligament strain in his left knee. “The recovery process is going really well,” the 28-year-old reported. “I’m just pleased nothing was torn,” he continued, relieved that the training ground injury was “nothing dramatic.“
Borowski is confident of making the matchday squad on Friday: “I’m making good progress and I hope it’ll work out.“ Although he has been unable to train with the team for nearly two weeks, Tim is confident his overall fitness is good enough for a competitive appearance.
Lack of match practice
Thanks to the intense individual training programme, “I don’t think I’ve lost much, the opposite in fact,” Borowski reasoned, although he admits to a lack of match practice. The Germany midfielder has had just 45 minutes on the field this summer, a half of the Supercup meeting with Borussia Dortmund.
Borowski intends to weigh up his chances of a comeback against Hamburg with Jürgen Klinsmann in the next few days. “There’s always hope,” he remarked, although his priority was to regain full fitness. “The main thing is that the ligament recovers the strength and stability it had in the past.“

'An important goal'
Dynamic Borowski nears 100 percent
Quote:
Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund, long after the final whistle on Saturday. Jürgen Klinsmann and his men were all seated in the new team bus, ready to depart for the airport. But Tim Borowski was missing, so the stars had no option but to wait. The former Bremen star was waiting too, waiting to pass the anti-doping test in the stadium medical room. But – literally and metaphorically – Tim just couldn’t go. An hour and a half passed before Borowski rejoined his team-mates and the bus was cleared to begin the journey home.
An inability to provide a post-competition doping control sample is a not infrequent occurrence among athletes. Oliver Kahn was a notorious sufferer, but Borowski’s struggle to satisfy the doctor was about the only thing which failed to go well for the midfielder on this particular afternoon. After coming on as a half-time sub, Tim’s first goal for Bayern ensured the champions came away with an ultimately deserved point from their trip to Borussia Dortmund.
“It’s always special when you score your first goal for a new club,” Borowski agreed with fcbayern.de on Sunday morning. “It wasn’t just any old goal, it was the equaliser.“ The man capped 33 times by Germany was not alone in thinking “it was an important goal. It was obvious what would have gone off if we’d lost in Dortmund, so I was really delighted.“
In his first extended appearance for the club, Borowski showed why Bayern are convinced the squad is stronger for the lanky midfielder’s inclusion. He and Bastian Schweinsteiger seized the impetus as the Reds fought their way back from a goal and a man down at the break. “We went for it after half-time and put into practice the things we’ve worked on in training. We covered a lot of ground and created chances. It was a fantastic team performance, given we had a man less.“
Klopp praises Borowski
Borowski stamped his authority on the match after coming on. “The lad played a really good half of football,” BVB coach Jürgen Klopp felt moved to comment. The summer signing is not even fully fit yet, after missing almost the entire pre-season programme with a knee ligament strain. “I had to work my way back from that, so I lack match practice. The half-hour against Hamburg and the half against Dortmund have done me a lot of good. It’s something to build on.“
That thought applies to the team as a whole. “Step-by-step, we’re approaching where we want to be,” reasoned Borwoski, who spent his post-Euro 2008 vacation entirely in Munich to ease the settling-in process, and now describes himself as “totally happy“ in his new home. “All of us, especially those who played at the Euro, aren’t at 100 percent yet, but we’re very close,” the 28-year-old argued.
Perhaps the Allianz Arena crowd might see 100 percent from Borowski and his team-mates in their next match. “We can be satisfied with a point in Dortmund, but we need a first win when we play Hertha Berlin at the weekend,” demanded the player nicknamed Boro, making no secret of his yearning to start the game. “Obviously it’s the coach’s decision, but I’ll do everything I can this week to make it happen.“
