UEFA Cup knockout round: Bayern drawn to face Aberdeen (Sco)
Quote:
|
The draw for the knockout round of the UEFA Cup will be made on Friday, at 13.00h, in UEFA's headquearters in Nyon.
Bayern will play one of the third placed teams in the groups.
A good advantage is the second leg at home.
Confirmed third placed teams thus far:
- FC Zürich (Leverkusen thrashed them yesterday 5-0)
- Bolton (from our group, we can't face them, right?)
- Anderlecht
- Galatasaray
Next four teams to be confirmed tonight.

bolton may lose anelka to chelsea/united so will be alot easier to go against.
no worries, we can beat any team.

I don't think we can play bolton again in the next round. and the game in muncih the 2-2 was pretty unlucky we were clearly the etter side but made 2 stupid mistakes.
I'm pretty confident that nurnberg will win tonight and make 3rd place so they also fall out. That leaves
zurich, anderelecht, galatasary,
kopenhagen or aberdeen (from group B),
group C it can be 3 teams Fiorentina, AEK Athen or Mlada Boleslav
and Group D: Din Zagreb, Rennes or Bergen.
All teams we should beat. I'd like to see Fiorentina with Luca coming home but that would be the toughest by far of the bunch...

Galatasaray, AEK and Anderelecht would be decent opponents. Of course Fiorentina is the strongest opponent we'd meet, but those 3 I mentioned are stronger than Bolton and perhaps Braga too, so we wouldn't have it easy against them.
All the others would get a thrashing like Aris

All eyes on Nyon | FCB hope for attractive tie in UEFA Cup draw
Bayern’s convincing 6-0 victory over Aris Salonika on Wednesday sealed first place for the Reds in UEFA Cup Group F. All eyes at the Bavarian club now turn to UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, where the draw for the Round of 32 and the Round of 16 takes place at 1 pm CET on Friday. Munich will be represented by board director Karl Hopfner.
As group winners, Bayern’s Round of 32 opponents will be drawn from the sides finishing third in one of the other groups. The first leg will be away from home, with the decisive return in front of Bayern’s home Allianz Arena crowd. Winning the group had been “a big advantage,“ Ottmar Hitzfeld emphasised.
No intra-German clash
As a result of developments elsewhere on Wednesday, Bayern’s potential opponents include FC Zurich, RSC Anderlecht and Istanbul giants Galatasaray. The names of other potential opponents will become clear after Thursday evening’s final round of UEFA Cup group matches. Bavarian rivals 1. FC Nürnberg could finish third in Group A, but an internal state derby is not a possibility as teams from the same national association cannot meet in the Round of 32.
The 32 hopefuls entered into Friday’s draw comprise the 24 qualifiers from the UEFA Cup group phase, together with the eight third-placed sides eliminated at the same stage of the Champions League. First leg ties in the Round of 32 will be played on 13/14 February, with the returns on 21 February.

Galatasaray maybe the hardest of the lot. Espescially in the away game. But i really can't see us having any problems with any of those teams.
it's must win no matter who we get. Great german performance btw. 5 teams in the uefa cup now :P

i am not going to watch the draw..... Shit
i hope we get a decent team, Why ?
Because with poor teams we always have the bad matches, They are so scared from this Big thing Called Bayern, they defend, 5 CB's and 3 DM's .

The draw will be made for the Round of 32 and for the Round of 16.
So that means we'll know our possible opponents of the next group, if we pass this one.
