Matts Hummels [loaned to Dortmund]
FC Bayern München have rewarded youngster Mats Hummels with a professional contract.
The defender's contract runs from January 1st 2007 until June 30th 2009.
Debut against Schalke
18 year old Hummels, at the club since 1995, won his first team debut in the PREMIERE League Cup semi-final against FC Schalke 04 in August.
"He did his job wonderfully", head coach Felix Magath had praised Hummels back then.

Coach: Bright future for Hummels and Kroos
The media continue to speculate wildly over Bayern's current frenetic activity in the transfer market. Altintop, Schlaudraff and Sosa are the confirmed signings so far, but Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and his fellow board directors are not yet ready to release any further names.
"Obviously, I know a lot more than has been announced up to now," Ottmar Hitzfeld revealed in a recent FCB.tv interview, "we've already completed one or two further transfers." The head coach toed the party line and politely declined to name the players involved.
Continued investment in youth
However, one fact is beyond doubt: the club will continue to nurture and promote individuals from the junior team youth section, alongside established stars costing millions. "Our work with young players is and remains a priority," general manager Uli Hoeneß confirmed at Tuesday evening's friendly against Ulm.
"Toni Kroos and Mats Hummels will definitely get their chance," the official continued. The 17-year-old Kroos and the slightly more senior Hummels, currently embroiled in his school leaving examinations, are likely to spend most of their training time with the seniors next term. "I think it's probable they'll both appear for the first team at some point," Hitzfeld added.
Reserve boss delighted with Hummels
Hummels made his Bundesliga debut against Mainz last weekend after replacing Martin Demichelis on the hour. He previously appeared in the pre-season League Cup and a prestige friendly in Barcelona, before accompanying the senior squad to the winter training camp in Dubai. To crown a momentous season, he made his debut for the Germany U-21s a couple of weeks ago, all at the tender age of 18.
Hummels rates as one of Germany's best young centre-halves. Veteran reserve coach Herman Gerland has already predicted a Bundesliga future for the youngster, with a decent chance of his making the grade at Bayern.
Classic playmaker Kroos
Young prodigy Kroos has made a similarly deep impression on his own club coach. "He plays in the hole behind the front two. That's his best position, where he can make best use of his strengths," Bayern U-19 coach Kurt Niedermayer explained, after bringing the 17-year-old to the Säbener Strasse from Hansa Rostock last summer. "He's come on extremely well since then," a visibly enthused Niedermayer continued.
"He scores plenty of goals from midfield. He's a great finisher, but he has the vision to play a killer final ball. He's already physically strong for his age, good on the ball and technically gifted. He has a solution for every problem. He's not the sort to push the ball three yards and think he's done his job. He knows where to play the ball."
Hoeneß predicts bright future
Kroos was hailed as one of the up-and-coming stars of the recent U-17 European Championships in Belgium, and the player will travel with the German squad to the Youth World Cup from 18 August to 9 September in South Korea. At club level, Kroos is a U-19 regular and already a figure of authority.
Hitzfeld has taken the budding young playmaker under his wing in recent weeks, including him in first-team training sessions. Toni appeared for the seniors at the Bulls Cup in Salzburg last February, and covered the full distance in Ulm on Tuesday. Both appearances required special permission from the local association, as Kroos is technically too young to appear at senior level until next season.
All the signs are that Philipp Lahm, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Andreas Ottl and the club's other successful youth products could soon be joined by two more of their number. "I'm convinced Tony Kroos will play for the first team very soon," Hoeneß predicted.

Hummels out of plaster
Hummels, who unluckily tore ankle ligaments in an accident at home, is back on his feet after a cast was removed on Monday, although he will be wearing a surgical shoe for the next four weeks. "I'll be fit to play again at some point in October," he informed fcbayern.de.

Hummels back in training
Following a nine-week break with injury Mats Hummels returned to training with the team on Sunday morning. The 19-year-old defender tore ligaments in his right ankle after falling down the stairs at the end of July and has had to rest the injury ever since. “It’s gone extremely well, I don’t feel any pain at all now,” Hummels told fcbayern.de. “It was almost as if I’d never been away.

Mats Hummels has been loaned to Dortmund for a year and a half.
He has signed a contract with Dortmund until 30th of June, 2009.
After then, he'll return back to Munich.
I've just read the news in the German edition of Bayern official website.
Let's wait for the news in English, should come up soon.

Hummels loaned to Dortmund
Borussia Dortmund have announced that Bayern Munich youngster Mats Hummels will be joining them on loan until June 2009.
The talented defender, who has been limited to a role in the Regionalliga, has agreed to a temporary switch to the Ruhr club in order to gain more experience.
The 19-year-old is seen as one of the more promising youngsters at the Bavarian giants.
The fee involved has not been revealed, but Bayern will certainly benefit in the long-term with the young defender possibly getting valuable Bundesliga experience under Thomas Doll.

It's for the best. With Breno coming in and Van Buyten as 3rd choice, it's good that he is going to get valuable match practice.

It is really great news. He'll gain some good experience there, hopefully.
Imagine the possible CB parternship of Hummels and Breno in a few years.
Can we see that happen?
