The media from Germany and Brazil have been saying that we're in pole position for Breno, and not Real Madrid or Fiorentina.
I don't care what media of other countries think, especially when they're not geographically related with the player, or the team(s).
Rummenigge said FCB are having talks with the players, but nothing is sealed yet. That's enough, for now.
We'll wait and see. Better that way, than speculating.

It looks pretty official now. I just read the latest sportbild article with breno's father.
And he confirmed that he will join us. To quote he said he wants his son to play for Bayern. The two main rivals milan and real just wanted to sign him as a perspective player. maybe even loan him out cause he had hardly a shot at the starting eleven. This will be different at bayern.
Appearantly he also talked a lot to ze roberto who strongly suggested that bayern is the best club to go to. They will sign a contract next week for the transfer sum of 18 million dollars ( around12 mio euros ) which is his fixed release clause.
good signing. ismael and van buyten can go now !

Bayern leading the race to sign Breno
The father of hot Sao Paulo prospect Breno claims German giants Bayern Munich are leading the reace to sign the 18-year-old center back.
“I’m ready to take the kid there,” Claudio Francisco told Brazilian magazine Lance. “From what I’ve seen, it’s a great idea for Breno to join Bayern.”
AC Milan and Real Madrid are also interested, but look set to come on a joint second place for his signature.
“They wouldn’t field him as a starter with the squads they have,” he explained. “That means they’d probably be looking to loan him out and that’s just not what we want.”
“The only concrete proposal that’s come through has been from Bayern.”
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are set to be reported to FIFA over their pursuit of Sao Paulo defender.
Sao Paulo are angry with Bayern and Real over their chase for Breno and a spokesman for the Brazilian club said: “We want FIFA to step in because we have not received any official approach.
“They have been dealing directly with the player. We’ll fight until the end because justice must be done and this situation cannot be allowed to continue.”

Again some news strongly confirming the transfer is very close according to Blickpunkt Sport. I just heard their podcast.
Sao Paolo wants to intervene but it looks highly likely that the transfer will be made fix this week.
The more important news is that Breno played on Sagnols position a great deal of the season and showed a lot of talent there not just as cb. This could be bad news for Willi if they really sign Breno for his position. That could also explain a bit why he was so pissed last game...

If we are to get Breno, it is because Ismael will leave and we will most likely loan Hummels for a while. Then we'll have 4 CBs fighting for the spot. I don't really think we are getting him to pressure Willy. His competition are now Lell, Lahm & Jansen. 4 people for 2 positions is enough.

that's just the position he played most of the season so far. i agreee he will most likely be signed as a cb but it is good to know he can play both. And i don't really trust Lell tbh. He was really crap in the stuttgart game and all goals came from his side....
And with both lahm and sagnol let's say doubtfull to stay ( my guess is that one of them will leave us next summer ) it would not be the worst thing if we had a brazilian international for that position in the backhand...

I'm not saying Lell is great. Im just saying he's a back up. Nor have any problems with Breno being in that position. But we must remember that we have Gorlitz out on loan. Someone who plays in Sagnol's position. So, we have that covered, really
(By the way, anyone know how is he performing?)
So if Sagnol leaves we have it covered. I will be gutted personally cause he is one of my favorites. His crosses are more than excelent. But oh well.
If Lahm leaves (which i fucking hope he doesn't) we have Jansen & Lell to duke it out and fight for the place. Whoever is in better shape will play, which will keep them both on their toes and in good form.

BRENO, For the moment I will remain at San Paolo
18 year old brazilian defender Breno has declared: "I would like to play the Libertadores with Sao Paulo; I have a contract unil 2011 and all I thin about is to do well for my team". The young player's termination clause amounts to 18 million USD
