Because We Need a CB IMO, do you remember Kahn the Kompany Mertesaker Conversation ?

we need someone to give him the time to develop, like Ramos, when he was unknown a few seasons back and now he is one of the best .

But i agree with you Kahn about the price it's absolutely Insane to give away 14m for him ..... to be Real Madrid i mean .

I've read that Bild makes certain that Bayern Munich has paid 14 million euros for Breno, who plays in Sao Paulo, and that he'll come here during the transfer window in winter.

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has coment during an interview with Münchner Merkur that: "No, it's not a fact yet". Claiming that it is only interest.

Bayern Munich look set to beat a host of top clubs to the signature of talented Brazilian defender Breno from Sao Paulo.

The teenager looks likely to sign for the Bundesliga leaders for €14 million despite interest from Real Madrid.

The German giants want the 18-year-old, full name Breno Vinicius Rodrigues Borges, to join them during the winter break and bolster their defence which was been exposed in recent weeks.

Breno was recommended to Bayern by former goal king Giovanne Elber who played for the Munich side between 1997 and 2003 and has been recruited as a scout in his native Brazil.

"Nothing is sealed yet" Karl-Heinz Rummenigge admitted. "But he is a player, who has convinced everybody who has seen him."

AC Milan have also reportedly shown an interest following a solid recommendation from Kaka. "Breno is one of the best young players Brazil has. I assure you he is ready to play in Europe."

Bayern had originally offered €11 million, but have raised their bid after other clubs started sniffing around. Should the deal go through, the teenager would cost more than summer signings Luca Toni (€11 million) and Miroslav Klose (€10 million).

Breno recently helped Sao Paulo secure the Brazilian championship with five games to spare, conceding just 15 goals in 36 league games.

The centre back is not only regarded as the club's best player, but also one of the top players in the league. He is currently a leading contender to land the 'Bola de Ouro' (Golden Ball), given to the league's top rated player by Placar Magazine.

Real Madrid paid 27m for Ramos, nearly double.

probably one of rmds recent best transfers.. i believe his buyout clause now is something like 100m.

We are currently set with our 2 cbs. That's the best cbs of argentina and brazil atm after all. So what we are signing is a backup on that position.

And breno is really good. his club just got 15 goals in 30 matches and he by far leads the run for the best player in brazil this year.

he can also play rb and dm, so he is the perfect backup.

If you buy mertesaker or kompany you pay twice that and you got 3 world class players for 2 positions.

give breno 2 years to develop and he might prove to be the best signing of the year

Good point, but my concern is the fact that he is a 14m € worth back-up!
And he has no experience in Europe, imagine he doesn't adapt, it's 14m € thrown out of the window

true if you consider the players bayern bought so far DIRECTLY from south america

sosa: maybe unfair to list him here but he could become the new deisler, just not in the good way hoeness thought

and it also took demichelis what 3 years (?) to finally make it. on the other hand players like ze,lucio, juninho, elber all came from a german club to us...

but on the other hand that is really his market value. I'd say go for it and take the risk or you will bite your ass if you miss out on kaka, diego or robinho like we did before. and if he is another flop. fucking throw out thew whole south america scouting departmend and hire new ones !
