19 year-old Thomas Kraft is being considered for the future job of replacing Michael Rensing for Bundesliga leaders Bayern München.

Michael Rensing is the undoubted successor to Oliver Kahn for seasons to come. But beyond that, FC Bayern is apparently looking to their own youth players to tend goal.

Thomas Kraft is under consideration as the future replacement for Rensing in Bayern. He is currently playing for the club on their regional squad. "We're thinking about making Thomas Kraft the number two man", Uli Hoeneß told the news agency "dpa".

Interesting approach.

I know a lot of people disagree but it's an interesting move from Bayern. Wanting to build up & trust our young goalkeepers. I know it's a hard task and a very delicate one, 'cause if you're on a "bad run", it'll really show.

I'm not saying they'll be able to produce/come up with another Oliver Kahn. But make Rensing or Kraft name for themselves. Before, people used to compare Cesc Fabregas with Patrick Viera. Now they don't. 'Cause he made a name for himself.

I know it has a high risk, but hey, decisions like this will always be risky. We've produced awesome talents such as Schweinsteiger, Lahm, Hargreaves... Why not produce a great goalkeeping talent?

Well, if he'll be the no.2, that definately means no new goalkeeper is coming.

Can't say anything on Kraft. Never saw his performances.

Thomas Kraft has officially been promoted to the first/professional squad.

He is the official no.3 goalkeeper, and will be wearing the number 35 shirt.

Breno used to hold number 35.
