Burghausen v Bayern | Monday evening kick-off for Cup encounter

Bayern trip to face SV Wacker Burghausen in the first round proper of the DFB German Cup will be the last of the 32 ties to kick off, the German Football Association (DFB) has announced. The all-Bavaria derby has been scheduled for an 8.30 pm kick-off on Monday 6 August, and will be broadcast live by state TV channel ARD.

The venue is the Wacker Arena in Burghausen. Following the draw, the third division side petitioned for the match to be switched to the Allianz Arena, but the DFB match committee rejected the proposal.

Instead, Burghausen will temporarily expand the capacity at their home ground for the visit of Germany’s most successful club side. Two additional seating blocks will boost the Wacker Arena’s capacity from 7,800 to 11,189 for the match.
