Wow, massive signing, this one surprised me to be honest. You guys know Bayern better than I do and whether or not Ribery is the player you need, but in my opinion he's as good as his reputation (not overrated).

The price is high, but I think a bid of that size may have been needed to prevent him from exploring his many other options... whether or not any other clubs HAVE bid for him, there are several that I think would have this summer if given more time.

Jesus Christ, toni now ribery...you guys are going to be a force to be reckond with, to bad you didnt get CL because you might have won it! Man i might have to start watching budesliga and rooting for Bayren! Wellll maybe not root for them but this deff makes me want to watch their games now!

Well you all know my opinion of Ribery...Oh well, hopefulyl he can prove me wrong.

I didn't like it when we signed van Bommel and he turned out to be our player of the season, so let's see

Default Ribéry: Domenech Convinced Me To Join Bayern
Bayern’s new record €25 million signing Frank Ribéry has revealed that he received some convincing advice before he agreed to join the club.

For many young players like Ribéry, the national team can act as a second family and Ribéry has admitted he sought the advice of his national coach and fellow team mates before reaching his decision to choose Bayern over Real Madrid, who also showed an interest.

“I spoke with my team mates and trainer Domenech about the move,” said the Frenchman. “He didn’t hesitate and said: ‘Go there, Bayern is a big club and you will enjoy it there’.”

“I want to win titles with Bayern,” he continued. “Bayern are an ambitious, a more serious club.

“The management did an awful lot to convince me to join. My national team mate Willy Sagnol also told me I’d made the right choice.

“He told me lots of positive things about the club. He said that Bayern were a serious club, with a great stadium, very good players and a positive, family atmosphere.

“That is important for me as a young player when playing abroad.”

The 24 year old has had an eventful life. As a child he was involved in a serious car accident where he was thrown through the windscreen. The scars on his face are a reminder of this.

In 2004 Ribéry joined Metz, but had to move abroad to Galatassary in 2005 after an unsavoury fight incident in a disco. He remained in Turkey for only six months before a return to France with Marseille, which is where Ribéry really made people stand up and take note of him.
