According to "AS", Real Madrid have raised their offer to €55m + van der Vaart + Sneijder.

Beckenbauer says the board have discussed about Ribery in their last meeting in May,
and they've agreed to consider the issue if he absolutely wants to go.

I know losing Ribéry would be a huge blow, and that Bayern's style would probably need a bit of a tinkering with (which is likely to happen even if Ribéry stays in all fairness), but that is a pretty hot deal when all things are considered, both Sneijder & Van der Vaart are excellent, proven players who are versatile and, in Van der Vaart's case, proven in the Bundesliga. €55m could be used very shrewdly to shore up the goalkeeper and defensive positions, and you would still retain a wealth of attacking talent- Olic, Klose, Toni, Gomez, Van der Vaart, Sneijder, Schweinsteiger.

Having said all that, I have just seen the source, so please ignore the whole story.

If Ribery wants to leave, I would sell him to Real, the galagticos shit is the best way to fuckup 5 top stars in 1 season, Ribery will do nothing in Real.

Look at amazing players like VDV, he was kept for one season, they are dealing with him as a plastic bag, Ribery will find it hard to cooperate with Ronaldo.

BAYERN: RIBERY NOT FOR SALE!

Quote:
STATEMENT
Board of directors’ response to incorrect report

In the Wednesday edition of Sport BILD magazine dated 17 June 2009, the cover story and a report on pages 10-11 claim that the FC Bayern Munich AG supervisory board has resolved that Bayern Munich player Franck Ribéry would be permitted to leave the club for an appropriate transfer fee, and would not be obliged to remain at the club in this eventuality. This report is untrue and incorrect.

In response, the FC Bayern Munich AG board of directors has issued a statement setting out the facts:

1. There has not been any resolution made by the FC Bayern Munich AG supervisory board relating in any way to the subject of selling the club’s player Franck Ribéry.

2. The procedural rules governing the transfer (sale) of a player by the FC Bayern Munich AG board of directors do not require the prior approval of the supervisory board.

3. The FC Bayern Munich AG board of directors has unanimously resolved not to offer the player Franck Ribéry for sale.

We would request media representatives to note the contents of this statement and desist from publishing further inaccurate reports on this subject.

I am happy to see Bayern put their foot down, this will allow Bayern to start taking legal action, so I can imagine some of the rumours to cool a little, especially other clubs like Real attempting to unsettle Ribéry. It also allows Bayern to work out things with the player himself and determine the best course -- which I am sure Bayern have spoken with Ribéry and said: "Look, we need you for another season then if you want to go then we'll let you, unless you absolutely want to exit now."

Yet as previously mentioned it is about if Ribéry himself wants to stay. I have yet to hear Ribéry say he is 100% committed to Bayern right now. If any of these stories are to be believed, then I have heared several times recently where Ribéry is open to moving on -- even though he has said he is fine staying -- that is NOT 100% commitment!!! His first season with Bayern he was 100% committed and he played to show it. Last season he didn't seem all the way committed and played a step below that.

If we can expect the same issues and rumours and Ribéry getting unsettled more and more as time goes on, then I would prefer that he just be sold for an enormous sum like the €60m + Van der Vaart + Sneijder mentioned (at least that amount).

To me, unless Ribéry comes out with a statement himself (not his dumbass agent) that says he is more than 100% committed to Bayern right now (its ok if he thanks those clubs interested in him), but for everyone to respect his wishes to stay, and then goes on to play more than 100% committed -- then I will be fine. Yet it seems like he is toying with things and keeping things open to see what happens. Anyway, it will be curious to see how Ribéry responds to any of this.

Rummenigge: "We all agree, including Franz Beckenbauer, that we will do all we can to keep hold of Franck."

"I am quite relaxed about the Ribery issue because nothing can happen without Bayern.

"Even Van Gaal knows what an exceptional player Ribery is. Franck is one of the best three players in the world and we know what we have in him."

Alain Miglaccio, Ribéry's (and Zidane's) agent:

"Ribery would prefer to play for Real Madrid ahead of Barcelona."

"The player has spoken with Zinedine Zidane and wants to sign for Los Merengues."

"At this time any move is off because the people at Bayern are on holiday until the end of the month."

"I cannot say anything more until we meet with them in the coming weeks."

Rummenigge to "L'Equipe":

"Franck Ribéry is one of the top 3 players in the world. You don't sell such a player, not even for a lot of money. He is irreplaceable! I will do everything in my power to keep hold of him. We want to extend his contract and are willing to pay money for that. We will try."

Bayern ready to double Ribery salary in order to keep him

Quote:
Bayern Munich are ready to double Franck Ribery's salary to eight million euros (11.2 million dollars) in an effort to make the French winger stay in the wake of interest from several teams led by Real Madrid. French sports daily L'Equipe reported on Friday that Munich were set to make Ribery the best-played man in Bundesliga history. His current annual pay is estimated at four million euros.

Only four millions that surprises me when it is rumoured that Borowski earns 5,5 millions.
