A poll of 268 league players has been published in Kicker magazine on Monday, naming Frank Ribery the Bundesliga player of the year.
The Kicker poll also paid trubute to departing Bayern trainer Ottmar Hitzfeld was voted coach of the year with 32.9 percent. Energie Cottbus coach Bojan Prasnikar was runner-up after helping the cash-strapped club avoid relegation, while VfL Wolfsburg gaffer Felix Magath came third.
