Lehmann will not come.

Hoeness knows just to well that he is maybe THE most hated player by bayern fans right now...
I do not think he would get a 10 % yes voting under Bayern fans as signing.

Anyway sport1.de reports that Bayern made an offer to Marc Ziegler the #2 in Dortmund as 2nd goalie. He's 31 and played 3-4 games this season i think with some man of the match performances

Default Hoeneß: Why Would We Want Lehmann?

Bayern Munich sporting director Uli Hoeneß has laughed off suggestions that the club were considering bringing in Jens Lehmann.

Quotes attributed to Franz Beckenbauer in Bild may have suggested Bayern were refusing to rule out a bid Jens Lehmann, but the Rekordmeister's sporting director Uli Hoeneß has categorically rejected any such move.

Lehmann has been frozen out at Arsenal since losing his starting spot in goal at the end of August, but having rejected a loan move to Borussia Dortmund, the German international has no hope of securing a switch to the Bundesliga leaders.

Lehmann - Too Old, Too Impatient

Bayern veteran Oliver Kahn will call it quits at the end of this season, but Hoeneß says there's no room for Lehmann at the Allianz Arena - Kahn's successor will be 23-year-old Michael Rensing.

"We've always held on to Michael Rensing and promised him that he'll be the number one when Kahn stops playing," Hoeneß told German TV channel DSF.

"It wouldn't make much sense to bring in a 38-year-old to Munich to replace another 38-year-old," he added of Lehmann, who he doesn't even consider suitable material as a back-up goalie.

"He's not the type who would sit patiently on the bench and would wait until Michael got ill or injured," added Hoeneß, putting an end to the recent rumours of a reunion between the goalkeeper and former Germany boss Juergen Klinsmann.

Rensing will be no.1, end of discussion.

What's the point on signing someone of his age and quality (S04 goalie), smartass?

From youngsters, only Adler > Rensing.

Default Al Habsi Attracting Bayern Attention

Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi is reportedly attracting the attention of Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich.

Ever since his arrival at the Reebok back in 2006, the Oman international has been forced to act as second string to Jussi Jaaskelainen, and this season has been limited to just four appearances.

Despite this lack of first team opportunities, Al Habsi did play against Bayern earlier this season and impressed the Bayern bosses with his display during the sides 2-2 draw back in November.

The player’s agent Peter Harrison has revealed that he has had contact from the Germans, who will be looking to sign a keeper at the end of the season when Oliver Kahn retires.

"I've had calls from foreign clubs, from Germany especially" he said in the News of the World.

"We'll assess things in the summer."

Michael Rensing has been confirmed as the number one for next season already, but the Bavarian giants will want to sign a reliable backup.

He frustrated at the lack of playing time at Bolton, so I doubt he would feel comfortable as #2 of Bayern.

We are better off looking somewhere else

No.2 at Bolton and no.2 at Bayern isn't exactly the same.

It's a possibility though, he may not like a move to us for that reason, he may want to start regularly.

He'd be a good no.2 though, if we could sign him.

Two other options are German-based pair Willy Sagnol and Philipp Lahm, both of Bayern Munich.

Sagnol had a huge fallout with the Bavarians before Christmas, and although things have been patched up slightly since then, he is being tipped to move on in the summer.

Lahm has long been admired by Barcelona, and reports in the German press before Christmas speculated at a possible swoop by the Catalans.

Default Bayern Target Kroos Jnr

If it wasn’t bad enough for the rest of the Bundesliga that Bayern Munich have the current wonder kid and next German superstar Toni Kroos in their ranks, the Bavarians are now after his younger brother Felix.

Bayern manager Uli Hoeneß confirmed the club’s interest in the 16 year old national junior player from Hansa Rostock.

“He is 16 years old so we will have to wait. But one thing is clear, if he ever were to leave Rostock, then Bayern would be ready and waiting to talk to him.”

It seems that an approach is just a matter of time and Felix’s age will not put off Bayern.

Toni Kroos was only a few months younger when he moved to Bavaria back in 2006 from Hansa.

Since then the midfielder has earned his first professional contract, played in the Bundesliga and even scored the winning goal in a Uefa Cup tie.

Default Schweinsteiger Heading For The Exit Door?

Reports suggest Bastian Schweinsteiger's days at Bayern could be numbered after another disappointing performance this weekend. Sevilla are thought to be interested.

Bastian Schweinsteiger's repeated failure to turn in convincing performances for his club is wearing thin the patience of Uli Hoeneß and Bayern Munich.

Schweinsteiger was given a starting spot yesterday when star man Franck Ribéry was forced to withdraw from the side at the last minute, but the German international was once again poor.

"We missed Franck Ribéry," commented Hoeneß after a 1-1 draw at the Allianz Arena in which Bayern often lacked creativity on the flanks.

Time To Cash In?

It now appears as if the club may, for the first time, be considering cutting their losses with the talented 23-year-old who came through their youth ranks.

Unlike Philipp Lahm, whose deal with Bayern also expires in 2009, Schweinsteiger has not yet been offered an extension, Hoeneß has revealed.

It remains to be seen whether a future offer will be forthcoming for the player who wowed fans at the 2006 World Cup. If not, Kicker are reporting that the Rekordmeister are likely to sell this summer so as not to lose him on a free transfer the following year. It is understood that Spanish side Sevilla has already registered a preliminary interest in the player.

Klinsmann A Fan But Competition Tough

Bayern's next boss, Jürgen Klinsmann, is known to be a big fan of Schweinsteiger, but more senior figures at the club are unsure where the winger might fit into the team's plans.

With Ribéry undoubtedly ahead first in the pecking order on the left wing spot, and given Schweinsteiger's apparent inability to play on the right, it is hard to see where he could play in a team that generally likes two more defensive figures in the centre of midfield, and which anyhow has the likes of Toni Kroos coming through and Tim Borowski joining next summer.

Competition for starting places is tough, and if Schweinsteiger is unwilling to be Ribéry's understudy on a full-time basis Bayern appear to feel their best option is to cash in.

tough choice

It could be better for schweini if he leaves. Maybe to spain or england

On the other side. Where did Schweini have his best games ? In the NT in the world cup. And who was his coach there ?? Klinsi...

I think this will be the first major decision Klinsmann has to make. Keep Schweini and maybe play him as OM. Or cash in some money and buy a world class DM

For the personal development of Shcweini i think that 2-3 years abroad would do him good to give him some new motivation to improve and work on himself. As far as i heard Sevilla and Inter are interested ( to replace Figo )

That's a good point mate, about Klinsmann.

I'd say Klinsmann will keep him, if he wakes up then great, if not we'll sell him. As for cashing in, I very much doubt he is highly rated at this time, so I don't think his value would drop all that much within a season.

I think Schweini could become a good CM (did well when pitching in for Ballack in the NT), if he let's go his laziness and starts working and running around more on the pitch, we could have our ze Roberto replacement.

I agree that a top class DM is a priority next season, Ottl is just a good reserve player, Borowski isn't a DM plus he is very injury prone and van Bommel I don't rate all that highly and the fact that he isn't a true DM really limits our options when we want to change something.

Methinks we should sell van Bommel next season, we could get 5-8m € for sure, then we also may have to sell Lahm due to his contract situation, Podolski's future is also up in the air and I'm sure Klinsmann will be given a 30/40m € budget, so we can get the DM we need.
