true. Mathijsen is more like Micho. I agree. If it's a replacement from the bundesliga Delpierre would be my favourite right now. He also is a lot like Mathijsen and Micho though. Not much for the offensive. but very good in the back
|
I think Delpierre is something in between, has some characteristics of both Lucio and Demichelis, he is really good. However, he isn't a direct replacement for Lucio, that's for sure.
In case Lahm leaves, Hutton could be a good option. Jansen for the left side, Sagnol for the right side, Hutton (who is young) learning from Sagnol to eventually replace him and Lell as cover for LB and RB

I just read that Bayern wants to hire Guillermo Ochoa from CF America. He is a 22 year old Goalkeeper.
I don't think they need him since Bayern has Rensing who is nearly the same age.
Edit: Oh I have a full ball now.

And Ochoa isn't really a bad keeper. I've had opportunities to see him play and does quite very well. In the last Copa America, he played in Mexico's famous 2-0 victory over Brazil. While the attention was on Nery Castillo, Ochoa actually saved Mexico's ass with a lot of brilliant saves.
The only thing is that Ochoa will have to "adapt" playing in Germany. What makes me doubt is the League standards. I mean. If he's able to show mental strength against tough sides here in Europe. That's the only thing that i can see as a negative point.
Anyways, i'd go for it. But I'm sure many of you will prefer Frey (from Fiorentina) to goalkeep for us. But by the fact that the Board has insisted that Rensing will be No.1 next season - Frey wouldn't come just to be on a bench - Ochoa doesn't seem a bad alternative.

Also, it's worth to mention that AC Milan are also interested in him. I read that in goal.com a little while ago.

Bayern And Tottenham After Barreto
Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur are reported both lining up bids for Reggina’s Paraguayan midfielder Edgar Barreto.
The 23 year old only moved to the Serie A side in the summer from Dutch Eredivisie side NEC Nijmegen but has impressed so much in his first five months in Italy that ‘bigger’ clubs are allegedly in the hunt for him.
He has shown great vision in attack, but without lacking in his defensive duties.
Despite this form Reggina currently lie in 19th place in Serie A.
During his spell in Holland Barreto was considered one of the finest foreign players in the league.
Bayern and Tottenham will have to stump up a fee in the region of £4.7 million in order to land the talented youngster.

yes i read that one too. i thought it was so silly i didn't even wanna post it here.
the guy plays left midfield where we have ribery, schwein, hamit and podolski.
silly rumour.
here is one that is a lot more likely:
FC Bayern beobachtet Ever Maximiliano Banega - Forum: Gerüchteküche - transfermarkt.de
It basically says that we are strongly interested in signing Ever Barnega and our scouts have been seen several times to watch him play...
tbh i do not know him. Maybe vargas can tell us a bit more on Ever Barnega.
Transfermarkt.de lists him as a DM worth 15 Mio Euros...

Nah dude. Got no clue who he is. I don't remember if he even played in the Copa America when I watched Paraguay's matches, since i was following Santa Cruz. If he did, he didn't really stood out.
Anyways, this dude sounds like another Julio Dos Santos. No thanks.
Btw, does anyone know is he's been playing in Spain (what club did he get loaned to?)

Banega was linked strongly with Juventus, but it seems Madrid will get him now. He's a holding midfielder, compared to a more calm Gattuso, although that title was likely to come up the moment he was linked with Milan. He's better off in Spain anyway, that where the Argentinian league players are most trusted.
As for Hutton, leave off! He's ours Seriously though, he's a good player, did well this season both in Scotland's Euro qualifiers against the likes of France and Italy, and in Rangers' European campaign against the likes of Stuttgart and Lyon. For United, it's looking like him or Bosingwa will be with us before too long, so I'm assuming Kahn is hoping we get Hutton
Delpierre isn't a player I'm familiar with, but the way he's described as "somewhere between Lucio and Demichellis" makes me think he'd be a great option for you. If he's between the two, he can replace either when needed.

Agreed that Argentinians are better suited to Spain, I also don't want this Banega, he would end up like dos Santos and Sosa -- expensive signings and given very few chances.

Damn right
I have never seen Hutton play, the only info I have of him is what LAF says, but I can tell you Bosingwa is a class player, he would be like like Evra but on the right.
I don't think signing an RB is a priority for Bayern, we should rather renew with Lahm instead of signing someone.

Good point.
I don't think Stuttgart would let him go easily, but he is definitely easier to get than Mertesacker

A right sided Evra? That'd be a sensation for us, I'll update Ferguson and Quieroz now
On Bayern's right-backs, I agree that if Sagnol stays, and you can renew Lahm's contract, then there's no need for a RB, since after all, Breno can slot in in an emergency. Troubke looks like renewing Lahm though. The whole Barcelona incident makes it look like Lahm is considering his options, to say the least, although his contract doesn't run out until 2009, so there's time on that one.

I agree, although to be fair to Banega, Sosa was signed from a one-season wonder of an Estudiantes side and dos Santos from some Paraguaya side, whereas Banega has impressed at Boca, among the like of Riquelme and Palacio, in a Copa Libertadores winning side. He was also one of the key members of the U20 World Cup winning Argentina's side, which has catapulted players like Di Maria and Aguero. He's got a lot more in his journal than Sosa and dos Santos in any case, so I think he's got a much brightr future than the other two. Wouldn't be the worst thing to happen to Bayern, but definately better suited elsewhere.

Bsoingwa benched Miguel and Paulo Ferreira, the guy is just great. Very few FB's can tackle and he is one of them.
He dribbles very well and is really fast, just needs to work on his crossing and short passing. Other than that, brilliant.

Well if we don't renew with him, we can't sell him for a good price next season because he'll just have 1 year left. If we don't sell him nor renew with him, he'll leave for free.
Lucio is the same situation.. fucking Bosman.

Good points there indeed, but I can't see him fitting in well, usually south americans struggle a lot in Germany (not defenders) . Ze roberto is one of the few bright spots.
On a side note, Di Maria is crap

This will all very much depend on who will be coach next year i think and what formation he wants to play...
If it's an italian coach they might try their luck with de rossi or barzagli, Mourinho might try to sway drogba or Deco or another portugese player and van Basten will sure want another DM. A german coach (Veh maybe ? ) will try delpierre or rafinha....
So you wanna know who will Bayern sign for next year ? This will all be decideded when the race for Hitz jobs begins in a few weeks...
Hoeness is clever enough to not sign any players without talking to the new coach. And this will def be the most important signing of the year 2008 anyway. not a Player even if it's a 20+ Mio player but the coach.

Very good point Eric.
We have to wait and see if Hitz stays. Then we'll see about the transfers.
