Kahn is retiring at the end of the season i'm sure.
|
Kahn said he won't retire until 2008 - the year when his contract ends. With an exception as he said, if we win Champ. League.
But I can see the board urging him retire after this season.
He is making big mistakes every match, and a lot of goals conceded are because of his fault.

Because Hoeness, Rumenigge and Beckenbauer are getting too old for their jobs...
Bringing back Hitzfeld and the signings in recent years and so far this season show their lack of innovation and creativity.
Under Hitzfeld there has been no improvement. Franz and Uli like to have one of their old "buddies" around again, that's all. And that's the same with offering Kahn a new deal.

How do you expect better results when he came just 1 month ago?

He's been there for more than a month and usually you notice a difference when a new manager comes in...there has been a slight improvement but not much...not enough to convince me that he will turn Bayern's fortunes around like Hoeness and Beckenbauer think.
I critisize the way the management has treated his return as if he was a godsend and everything and extedning his contract.

Magath was 'sending' us to Bundesliga 2.
Since Hitzfeld came, things have improved a lot, it's not a slight improvement as you say. I'm not talking about the results only. The atmosphere and everything changed in Bayern camp since he came. Podolski dissapeared under Magath, Hitzfeld brought him back, and he's even scoring. Magath switched van Bommel's position after every match, Hitzfeld doesn't do the same. He has found his best position, MVB has been putting his best performances since Hitzfeld came. That's what I'm talking about. I know, it's my fav team and I follow them, while you don't know. All you judging in are the results. This Bayern under Hitzfeld is another Bayern, a Bayern I haven't seen for some time, no matter there are still defeats. He can't bring much better than that I guess. We lack a playmaker. When that will arrive, and when Hitzfeld builds his own team to start the new season, we'll see..

Boruc would be an excellent replacement for Kahn, although it will be difficult for anyone to fill those shoes! Having Boruc's wife at the matches would be an added bonus for Bayern fans too. I've been seeing him linked to Milan quite a bit also since he played so spectacularly well against them.

Boruc is a class goalkeeper. But i dont see anyone offering 10million for him. Not because he isnt worth it, but because foriegn teams usually hold teams in Scotland to ransom. The old 'take it or leave it' mentality

I live in Germany...
Podolski gets to start more games and that's why he has scored a couple of goals, he's hardly set the Bundesliga alight.
How much of Hitzfeld "finding vBommels position" is down to Hitzfeld and how much is down to the fact that Hargreaves is playing again?
Yes as you say the atmosphere is different at the club but that is normal when a new manager comes in. Bayern just getting past Madrid wasn't a better performance than the two games against Inter Milan.
Magath wasn't liked at Munich. Now the old men's club (Hoeness, Beckenbauer, Rumenigge) have their old buddy back and that is why they are all happy and hyping up the "new Hitzfeld".
Bayern's drop in form and results this season has been down to the need for a large overhaul at the club. Kahn is getting old, the management isn't as good as it used to be. There are too many players who don't seem to be hungry for success.
One last question. How often did Hoeness come out and get really upset in front of the cameras after a bad performance during Magath?
In years gone by he would be one of the first ones to come out and really have a go at the players if he thought they weren't performing.

Not only the staff, every fan I'm sure 100% is happy that Hitzfeld is back.
About the staff, well yeah, I'd change them all. Bayern needs some reinforcements, some big names. Rummenige has promised that for summer, so we'll have to wait and see. I'll agree with you there on saying there are too many players who don't seem to be hungry for success. That's true. Lot of players will be leaving next season, and a lot are comming in. It should change things I guess.

Robben has stated he could imagine playing in the Bundesliga and is in contact with van Bommel on a monthly basis...
Let's wait and see..

You can forget about selling Hargreaves though.Chelsea do not need another centre midfield. But you can sell him to United so you can finance a possible move for Robben.
