Default Barcelona After Bayern's Lucio

Quote:
With clubs in Italy being on the trail of Lucio Ferreira, it seems that the Bayern star is a man very much in demand after FC Barcleona joined the chase...

With their move for Ezequiel Garay hitting the rocks, Barcelona seem to be in the market for a new centre-back.

Lilian Thuram seems to be preparing ot move on or retire, while question marks have hung over Carles Puyol and Gabriel Milito this season, meaning that 29-year-old Lucio may fit the bill.

The Brazilian previously remarked, "I've thought for a while that the Spanish, Italian and English leagues are the world's best.

"Those championships interest me greatly and I'd be extremely pleased to hear of offers from them."

Bayern are said to be looking for a fee of over €15m for the ex-Stuttgart man, which could discourage the likse of Roma, who were once said to hold an interest.

Barcelona, however, may regard the player as a long-term investment worthy of a four-year deal.

Any team would welcome Lucio. Top class CB, lot of experience.

I'm sure he'll go one day, the board will let him go. I think that will be 2009. No way the board will let him go this summer.

I think if someone will pay 20mln. or more we can let him go. With that money we could buy Mertesacker or other player which we want.
Lucio is really good player but if he didn't want to play in Bayern we should let him go ( of course for good price )because he didn't get all his for Bayern and for game.

Lucio has been inconsistent this season, but he is still a top class player. However, he won't renew with us and if we sell him in 2009, we'll have to demand less since he'll be on his last year (same situation as Klose when we got him from Bremen).

So, I'd consider offers over 20m € for Lucio, we can get someone with that money.
Maybe trump Barcelona for Garay

No, we shouldn't sell Lucio this summer under no circumstances. As I've said before, it took so many years to see a rock solid CB partnership of FC Bayern, with Lucio and Demichelis.

Next year we will be playing in Champions League, it's risky to enter the competition with a just-formed partnership of Demichelis and the Mr.X whoever he could be.

Lucio should stay for at least another year. He will be the team leader, the captain.

It's true that in 2009 teams won't offer 20 m as they're reportedly offering right now, but we can cash in at least 10 million from him, which ain't bad anyway.

If Lucio don't wana to play in Germany why we had to constrain him to play. If he don't wana play in Bayern and if we keep him next year his form and his playing rank could turn down.

He could be captain but i don't think that he could be leader. Our leader on ground is F. Ribery sometimes L. Toni. I think Lucio isn't and wouldn't be leader in team (like friends company).

So I think if Lucio really won't play in Bayern next season we should let him go (of course for good price ).

If Lucio really wants to leave that badly, i'm sure he'll ask the board for the transfer and they will give it a go. 'Cause they know they can't stall like they did with Hargreaves, since if we don't sell Lucio this summer, we won't get any cash later on.

That's a bit untrue, Lucio not being a leader. More than a few times i've seen him trying to push the team for the desired result.

All this is horrible timing 'cause we finally got an awesome partnership going on and now this happens. It's quite frustrating.

First off, I'll advise you all once again not to believe everything you hear. Media live to make up shit, and change words. They put words how they like them to appear.

Lucio didn't say he doesn't like it at FCB. He surely feels great here. All he said is that he wants to play outside Germany one day, before he's too old.

Not a long time ago (like 3-4 months) he said that, and also stated that he wants to fullfill his contract until it expires in 2010, but if the board and him reach an agreement, he'd leave a little early (possibly one year).

Don't believe the media reports like Lucio said this, Lucio said that.

And, Cezaris, you're wrong. Lucio has the heart of the leader, same as Oliver_Kahn and Mark van Bommel. We've seen that, we've witnessed the leadership of Lucio. It fits him perfectly.

If so, then how can you guarantee that he said this:

Who knows if that is true or not, you just never know.

It was an interview for Deutsche Welle, a reliable source, at least.

But they haven't succeeded. You're still here.
Yes, and I intend to see out my current contract, which runs until 2010. I still dream of Spain or Italy. I'd love to play there, and perhaps I can fulfill this dream a bit earlier, if the club and I can reach an agreement. I transferred from Leverkusen to Munich two years before my contract back then was set to expire. In soccer, nothing's beyond discussion, if the opportunities and the will are there.

So at some point you intend to leave Germany and head south.
One thing is for sure: After my time at Bayern Munich, I'll definitely leave Germany.

Default Lúcio: It's Time To Leave

Quote:
Lúcio's future at Bayern Munich seems to be even more uncertain after he conceded his wish to leave Germany.

The Brazilian defender is currently in his seventh season in Germany, having left Internacional Porto Alegre to switch continents in 2000.

He has been linked with a move to Barcelona at the end of the season, with reports suggesting the Blaugranes to have offered the 29-year-old a pre-contract.

Despite interest from Bayern Munich in keeping their veteran defender, Lúcio is determined to look for a new challenge, but denied any agreement with Barcelona.

"There isn't anything official, but I have been hearing that a lot in Spain," he told a German press source.

"Still, it is time to leave Germany. I am feeling well at Bayern, but it is time to go."

The Brazilian international, who arrived at Allianz Arena in 2004, is said to be allowed to leave the German giants should any club make an offer in the region of €15 million.

I'm officially quite worried.

I can't believe he wants to leave. Yes, he has achieved everything in here.

BUT until now we got an awesome rock solid CB partnership... and he couldn't time this worst

It's very selfish from my part, i know. He has given everything to the club and his wishes should be respected.

But it just breaks my heart, really.
