Default Bayern launch official YouTube channel
Barely a year after starting their own on-line TV station FCB.tv, Bayern Munich have announced further developments in the digital area.

From 15 July Bayern will begin an exclusive video co-operation with YouTube - the biggest on-line video portal in the world.

“We are delighted to be able to work with YouTube,” said Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

“With this project we will be able to reach fans all over the world. It is an important pillar in the Bayern media portfolio.”

After Chelsea, AC Milan and Barcelona, Bayern become only the fourth club to have their own channel on YouTube.

Content from FCB.tv such as interviews, and club features, well be available at YouTube - Broadcast Yourself..

Fans will be able to comment on the footage and also be able to post their own Bayern related films. Use of the site will be free.

Coverage of matches in the Bundesliga and UEFA Cup will remain exclusive to FCB.tv, though.

^ Even FCB.tv doesn't show live matches.

Clubs don't have rights of broadcasting matches live.
The rights are owned by the federation and such.

Anyway, besides that we won't see matches live in there, we won't even see match highlights and such.

Clips posted on YouTube are very old.
And what's worse, they're just short.
All videos are 1 min something. And in the end, it says log in to FCB.tv for more.

Just wanted to clear something up: clubs are allowed to broadcast matches through their internet subscription TV services. But all clubs agreed not to do it anyway, at least no live coverage. I guess they fear sinking revenue from their main broadcasting deal.
