Its better to sell him now and get another replacement. He hasn't played world class this year anyway, and who knows what kind of form he produces next year, so don't wait to let him go on a free. I am sure he is burned out playing in Germany, and will be more excited to go to Barca. With us going into the CL next season, we will meet up with Lahm again. Good luck though to Lahm, he still is a great player. With Lahm and Schlaudraff gone, we will look at possibly 2 more signings! It will be curious next season who Klinsmann prefers in what position most often. I hope Klinsmann doesn't try to prefer Germans over other players, as IMO several German players don't deserve starts after this season.

The thing is though, losing Lahm is terrible blow to the depth of our squad, because he can fill in at RB and LB, that's a huge bonus. We don't have such a player in our current roster and we'll have to dig deep to find someone who plays on both wings. This is my main problem.
I don't rate Lell at RB, let alone LB. Görlitz at LB only if you're desperate, he won't do you a half as good job as Lahm does, I can guarantee you that. Which leaves us only with Jansen, who can't seem to endure more than 5 matches without an injury.
Problem is though, I can't think of any other LB's at the moment, who are Bayern class and wouldn't demand a starting spot..

It's not about being stupid mate, you need to consider how desperate the teams interested are. For instance, Barcelona will lose Zambrotta, Sylvinho is also on the 'to move on' list, so they are in desperate need for a player who can both play RB and LB. I wouldn't be surprised if they offered something over 12m €.
Also, you must consider how many teams are interested, because if more than 3 rich clubs want him, you'll see a bidding war and Bayern may up the price until there's only 1 club remaining (this club would most likely be Chelsea).
I'm confident we can get at least 15m € for the bastard.

Barcelona is surely the most likely destination, with him replacing Zambrotta. Chelsea is a possibility I suppose, but they look very set on Dani Alves - that is, if they don't go with Ivanovic there next season.

Wayne Bridge looks set to leave, I read a few days ago, so Lahm might be brought in since he plays both LB and RB.
(RB as a starter and LB whenever Cole is injured/suspended)

Der Kaiser: Lahm Will Join Barca Or United
Bayern Munich president Franz Beckenbauer expects coveted fullback Philipp Lahm to sign for either Barcelona or Manchester United - but only after next season.
The speculation surrounding Lahm's future has been intense following the announcement that the offer of a new contract was withdrawn by Bayern, with some Spanish media outlets claiming that the transfer of the 24-year-old to Barcelona is almost a done deal.
While insisting that such reports are premature, Beckenbauer conceded that the best the can probably hope for it to have Lahm devote one more season to the club that made him a a star.
"Lahm's demands were a little too high in the eyes of our board of directors," explained 'Der Kaiser'
"Of course you can make demands and hope to get something, but whether you do get it is another question.
"It does not have to be that he leaves us now, his contract still runs until 2009. I don't think the last word has been spoken yet.
"He fits in well here and has proven that he is a world-class player and it would be great if he stays.
"But, on the other hand, you cannot change a player's mind when he has a huge offer and decides to move abroad.
"I think he will play for us another year and then leave to join a club like Barcelona or Manchester United."

Screw it. I'd sell him in the summer. I don't want another Ballack issue here, were a world class player leaves for free and we get nothing out of it.

Lahm: I'm Not Leaving For Money
Quote:
Bayern Munich left-back Philipp Lahm says that it is not because of financial reasons that he has not signed a new contract with the club.
The German defender has been linked with a summer transfer since he was unable to reach an agreement with his club over a new deal.
Reports coming from Germany have suggested that the 24-year-old refused to sign a contract extension with the German giants because he had found the €5 million offer made by the club insufficient.
However, Lahm has quashed these reports, saying that his doubts over a new deal are not related to the wages at Allianz Arena.
"Of course I know that footballers receive a lot of money, but I am not greedy," he told ZDF. "It is not about the money. The new contract should reflect my contribution to the team."
Meanwhile, Lahm commented on the reports linking him with a move to another league, saying: "I haven't decided what is best for me, but my goal is to play for one of the big clubs and win the Champions League."

After today, i can see why Lahm would wanna leave.
If we didn't reach a UEFA Cup final with the awesome squad we have now, what are the chances of reaching a UEFA Champions League final?

Some good years must pass first. The team has to play for several years continuously in CL and always reach the quarter's/semi's, at least. European dream seems to be forbidden for FCB.
I have 0 respect for Lahm currently. God, I hope we sell him this summer.

The next player up for discussion will undoubtedly be Philipp Lahm, who recently saw the club withdraw an offer of an improved contract after he failed to agree.
Hoeneß has however told interested party Barcelona to forget about taking the German international to the Nou Camp. Apparently Manchester United are in the driving seat should Lahm be allowed to leave the Bavarian club.
Bayern manager Hoeneß told Kicker on Sunday that he believed Lahm would stay, but it remains to be seen what will happen if a bid in the region of €15 million comes in from the Old Trafford club.

If he's definately not extending, I'd sell him for 15m to Man Utd in a heartbeat. We just can't let him leave for free.

This hasn't ended. Lahm will stay for another year and Bayern will make further attempts to resign him. I believe they will resign him.
If he does leave, Barca would certainly be the favourite to sign him. Forget Manure, he wouldn't do well in their long ball stlye.

Lahm says Klinsmann not factor in decision on future
Bayern Munich defender Philipp Lahm said the appointment of Juergen Klinsmann as coach would not affect any decision he takes on his future at the club.
Lahm, who is eyeing a possible move abroad, said his personal prospects would be the decisive factor on whether or not he stays at the newly-crowned German champions.
"I will be holding talks with Juergen Klinsmann in the next few days," he said in Munich Thursday.
The Germany full-back, who has been linked with Barcelona and Manchester United, could leave Bayern on a free transfer at the end of next season.
Bayern have been trying to get the defender to sign an early contract extension, but announced last month they were withdrawing their offer after the negotiations had failed to progress.
Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has insisted that Lahm would definitely be remaining at Bayern until the end of his contract.
Lahm, 24, had a successful 2006 World Cup under former Germany coach Klinsmann, who succeeds outgoing Ottmar Hitzfeld at the end of the season.
Any decision to leave would be "very difficult because I have a very good relationship with him," Lahm also told Kicker sports magazine.
