At the moment, loaning him seems to be the best idea.
Because, next season Zé Roberto is leaving, and that leaves us short in the DM position with only Mark van Bommel, and Borowski maybe.
If we are not going to bring a new DM (I think we will, anyway), selling Ottl wouldn't be a good idea.

Looks like Bayern are not planning to sell him, anyway. Frankfurt have made two bids and they have been rejected.
Quote:
EINTRACHT MISS OUT ON OTTL
Eintracht Frankfurt have had a bid for Bayern Munich midfielder Andreas Ottl rejected.
Eintracht chairman Heribert Bruchhagen confirmed he had made an inquiry into the availability of the player, but has been told that he is not for sale at any price.
"We really wanted Andreas Ottl from Bayern and have tried to get him twice, but our bids have been turned down," he said.
Bruchhagen has now turned his attention to other targets after being asked by coach Friedhelm Funkel to provide him with one more midfielder.

Blah, I wouldn't have minded seeing him loaned out.
I've never really been impressed by him.
It's been said many times before, he's not "Bayern Quality"

Ottl: "I need to challenge for my place"
Quote:
The 4:0 win over Berlin was Bayern's first of the new season. Jürgen Klinsmann's team played attractive attacking football and sent a signal that they are a force to be reckoned with again.
Bayern midfielder Andreas Ottl tells bundesliga.de his view of the season so far, about his chances under the new coach and his team's prospects for the Champions League season ahead.
bundesliga.de: Andreas Ottl, after your convincing win over Berlin, do you think you've broken through and that we'll see Bayern playing the way people expect?
Andreas Ottl: I think we're on track. That good win over Berlin was like a liberation for us, especially with all the goals we scored. We've got back our self-confidence and I think we can go to Cologne in the right frame of mind to bring home three points.
bundesliga.de: What can you say is different since Ottmar Hitzfeld was replaced as coach by Jürgen Klinsmann?
Ottl: Each coach has his own methods and his own idea about daily training, above all an individual approach to how he deals with the players. The two coaches are different in that respect. Basically, the main feature at this early stage of the season has been Jürgen Klinsmann's emphasis on strength and stamina. Gradually, the area of tactics will become more important. We're on the right path and well armed for the new season.
bundesliga.de: Klinsmann has said he wants, above all, to improve his players' individual ability. Do you get the feeling that you have improved under Klinsmann?
Ottl: You automatically improve with each coaching session if go flat out. You have to push yourself at every session, go to the limit and then some more. That way, you automatically improve and constantly develop. That's what Klinsmann stands for.
bundeslga.de: How good are your chances of being picked?
Ottl: So far I've played in every competitive match. Against Berlin, I was on the field from the outset. So I am pretty satisfied. I think my preparation went well and now we'll see how things go. Obviously I am having to challenge for a place playing in front of the midfield. Now it's up the coach and, of course, who we're playing.
bundesliga.de: Who do you see as your main rivals this season?
Ottl: Right now, FC Schalke are very strong. They have a good and experienced team. I think they are our toughest competitors at the moment.
bundesliga.de: Your opponents in the Champions League group games are Olympique Lyon, AC Florence und Steaua Bucharest. How do you see your chances?
Ottl: Our aim is clear. We want to top the group. They're awkward opponents, it's not an easy group. I rate Lyons the highest of the three. But the other will be hard to play against, specially away. Our task won't be easy.
bundesliga.de: How far can Bayern go this year?
Ottl: We'll have to wait and see. We haven't played our first match yet. First we must make sure we survive the group phase and then see how things are after the winter break. It'll be important for us to find a regular squad, that we prepare well in the winter and then grow into a great team. Then we can achieve a lot.

Yes you should fight for your place, as a tea bag holder
You can hold Ribery's tea bag and hold his ball, cause you know nothing about football .

Exclusive: Andreas Ottl
We’re back where we belong
Quote:
Mark van Bommel, Zé Roberto, Tim Borowski and even Hamit Altintop were the pre-season names in the frame for the holding midfield position at Bayern, but relative outsider Andreas Ottl is the man who has actually filled the role. The 23-year-old has started three of the club’s four Bundesliga matches and earned rave reviews into the bargain.
“We’re really, really happy with Andreas Ottl,” declared coach Jürgen Klinsmann, praising the FCB youth product “for the way he’s approached the job and grown stronger and stronger within the team. He’s been top class in the first two and a half months.“ fcbayern.de caught up with the midfielder ahead of the Champions League opener in Bucharest.
Interview: Andreas Ottl
fcbayern.de: Andi, Bayern are back in the Champions League! How much are you looking forward to the first match among the elite in 17 months?
Andreas Ottl: “Enormously. We’re back where Bayern should be at last. Big matches against big clubs in big stadiums, the Champions League anthem before the match, every player looks forward to it. I think after a year away we’re delighted to be back where we belong.“
fcbayern.de: You open against powerful Romanian outfit Steaua Bucharest. How do you rate the serial champions?
Ottl: “They won’t be easy. They’re very aggressive in front of their home crowd. It’s a traditional football stadium with a rousing atmosphere. They’re full of good players, comfortable on the ball and prepared to dribble. It definitely won’t be easy for us in Bucharest.“
fcbayern.de: Your other first-stage opponents are Lyon and Fiorentina. What’s your take on the group?
Ottl: “At first glance you might be tempted to think it’s not too bad, but I actually think it’s a very tough group. Away games in Bucharest, Florence or Lyon – who’ve always done well in recent years – are never going to be easy. But we’re confident and keen to make a decent start.“
fcbayern.de: The defensive midfield role seems to be yours at the moment. What do you make of your current situation?
Ottl: “There was lots of speculation as to who might play, but I knew that would happen. I went into pre-season aiming to work hard and put myself forward, do the best I could in every friendly, and put my case to the coach. I’ve also made sure I’m in peak physical shape, ready to perform when called upon.“
fcbayern.de: It was still a surprise to some people when you chose to extend your contract. Were you sure you’d make the breakthrough in Munich?
Ottl: “I never even considered leaving the club. I always go looking for a challenge. At Bayern you test yourself against the best every day, you’re in with a chance of trophies every year, and it’s a fabulous place for me to grow into the defensive midfielder I want to be. I’m the most defensive of our central midfielders, and I believe that’s my chance to make the position my own over the coming years.“
fcbayern.de: Jürgen Klinsmann has praised your recent efforts, but has he spoken to you personally?
Ottl: “The coach told me I did very well in pre-season. I think I’ve done OK so far, and I’ve had very good feedback from the coach, he’s pleased with me. So I’m continuing to work hard on my game, putting myself forward when I’m picked to play.“
