Oh what a surprise
Clear preference for the National team over his club.

Don't fall in that level bro. That's something stupid to say.
It's not about preferences here. Whether he's fit or not to play, doctors know it best.

Podolski seeks Bayern exit
Quote:
Striker hands in transfer request
Lukas Podolski looks set to be on the move in January after handing in a transfer request at Bayern Munich.
The Germany international has grown increasingly frustrated by a lack of first-team opportunities at Allianz Arena and is desperate to secure a move away from the Bundesliga champions.
He was linked with a host of Premier League clubs over the summer, following his Euro 2008 exploits, but was ultimately persuaded to bide his time at Bayern.
However, his patience has now been pushed beyond breaking point, and those clubs that expressed an interest during pre-season are likely to return for a New Year raid.
Podolski has failed to oust first-choice strike duo Luca Toni and Mirsolav Klose from Jurgen Klinsmann's plans at Bayern, and is set to face further competition for limited places when Los Angeles Galaxy star Landon Donovan arrives on loan in January.
"I have made my mind up that I would like to leave the club in the winter," Podolski told Bild.
"I have already told the management that I want to leave this winter."
Should Bayern accept his request, then former club Cologne will have first option on a player they reluctantly sold in the summer of 2006.

Do cologne have a buy back clause fee set or is it just a first option? And how much do you think Lucas will go for?

Not sure if Cologne have a buy back clause fee but they've been saying they have the 1st choice or something if we're going to sell him. The Bayern Board hasn't made any comment about it so it could be true or not be true.
I think he might go for a bit more of 8 million. Maybe a bit more, who knows.
I really liked the dude but oh well. I'll still cheer for him when he plays for Germany.

Good. He has been totally worthless at Bayern in my eyes. I place more value on players like Sosa and Van Buyten than him. At least we'll make some money on his departure. Now we can get a real mature minded forward.

Not sure if the board will let him go in the winter. But, I hope he leaves as soon as possible. He never adapted to Bayern, never did a thing. One of my favourite players, but useless for Bayern, so it's time for him to leave, definately.
Come on Man City, splash some 15 million pounds!

Finally..its about time, i agree with MM, he was useless to us, no big loss either way, and latley he's deciding not to play for the club and clearly preffering to play for NT. So let the whining baby get a taste of reality outside Germany, he'll still be a bench warmer anywhere he goes and with his shitty atitude, top clubs wouldnt want to invest on a whining bitch that always wants things his way.

I hope they actually let him leave. letting him rot on the bench and complaining about his lack of production is just stupid. give him a change of scenery
I hate seeing a player with so much potential sit on the bench because his confidence is shattered. He needs a fresh start and constant playing time and i think he will be great.
Madrid, Tottenham, Man City, Juventus,

I pretty much agree with this...which top club wants a player that cannot perform for his club like he does for his country. He wouldn't be worth the money tbh. If he is a quitter which, from what I have read, he is not going to make it at any top club where there is competition so big club will want him.
