I do want Podolski to start 'cause Klose has been absolute shit. He gets tons of chances and has a terrible run. Podolski should start and play. But honestly, this fucking interview is a slap in the face. Jeez. He didn't start 1 match out of the 3 we've played so far (official matches). He should shut the fuck up.

He starts in the first match against HSV.

Löw: Podolski Will Be Just Fine
Quote:
Germany boss Joachim Löw is convinced that the drama between Lukas Podolski and Bayern Munich will blow over soon and won't adversely affect his young striking star.
Still widely perceived as Germany's golden boy, the young forward had hoped that this season would be different from last, when he had to settle for a near permanent place on the Bayern bench. So far that has not been the case, however, and Podolski has just hit negative headlines for openly suggesting that he regrets signing for Bayern.
"I spoke with him yesterday about the situation with Bayern and his personal situation," Löw revealed.
"I know (Bayern general manager Uli) Hoeness' opinion and I know even better what (Bayern coach Jurgen) Klinsmann thinks and they both think a great deal of Podolski," he was keen to stress.
"It is normal that he makes it clear that he is not happy, but he cannot let his head drop. He must fight and get a regular starting berth there.
"They have only played three games and Bayern only have three strikers, so with such a long season, he will play a lot and I can assure you of that."
While his club career has never looked more uncertain, Löw did much to suggest that 'Prinz Poldi' can still count on being a main man for Germany.
He added: "Lukas has achieved a lot in the national team - he was one of the best players at the Confederations Cup in 2005 one of the best attackers at the 2006 World Cup.
"He scored many goals in qualifying for the European Championships and we all saw how well he did at Euro 2008.
"You don't see that sort of performance from lots of well-respected players, like Cristiano Ronaldo."
"He is only 23 and you cannot expect him to have hit his peak yet," Löw added.
"He has got to fight and put everything he has got into playing for Bayern, and I know from Klinsmann that he will do all he can to improve Lukas as an individual."

Hoeness is right... he should shut the fuck up and play football.
Seriously, we're all fed up with all this bitching and whinning.
I support Podolski only when it's due. Today, his reputation has suffered a decrease among FC Bayern fans, including me too.
I think the club should punish him in some way for this.

We should have got rid of Podolski when we had the chance.
He has proved nothing during his time at Bayern, but he still thinks he is allowed to complain?
Fuck Podolsk, ship him to Man City for 30 millions and get a real striker like Mario Gomez.

I have to agree with that.

Hoeness & Co. must have changed their minds now. No point in keeping him anymore. Lukas will probably leave by January or summer 2009, at last. We can cash in at least 20 million euros from his sale, I'm sure of that.

You see though, his stock will go down so it's not very easy to sell him, which is why I mentioned Man City, who are my only hope, as 30m is pocket money for them.
I'm hoping Köln have a good season and reach the Uefa Cup, because I'm sure they would also throw some 15-20m for Podolski. Other than those 2 though, I can't see any other club going over the 10m barrier.

He has been linked with many top teams every summer though.
Or were they just typical media rumors?

in 2007 he still had good reputation from his Köln days, even though he had a shit season with us. in 2008 he came from a great Euro.
Next summer though, there is no Euro or WC and the Köln reputation is gone, so I', not sure if many teams will be interested, plus no one likes a trouble-maker.

Oh I think there will be a team interested that begins with a W that wears green white kits and comes from a city which was part of the Hanse. :>

I think it's time for Podolski to leave.
It pains me to say it since he's one of my favorite players, i even got his jersey with his name and number for my birthday.
But he hasn't done much to be honest, as it's been said.
It's true that they may haven't given him any chances but oh well. I guess it's time to part ways.

Podolski itching for regular role
Quote:
Striker growing frustrated at Bayern as City are linked with a bid
Bayern Munich striker Lukas Podolski has hinted that he is growing unsettled at the Allianz Arena.
The Germany striker had been linked with a move away from the Budesliga giants over the summer, however a move failed to materialise.
Podolski has struggled for regular first-team football since joining Bayern from Cologne in 2006, and has started just one of the club's opening three games this term.
The 23-year-old has admitted he is frustrated at his inconsistent role at Bayern, sparking reports in Tuesday's press that Premier League side Manchester City could launch a bid for his services in January.
He said in the Daily Mirror: "Everything is possible. I would be a bad footballer if I contented myself by sitting on the bench.
"I could tolerate it if it was a case of two or three weeks, but there comes a point when one has to draw the line and say: 'This is too much! I'm not making any progress here'."
