He's been doing good enough at Bayern lately to be a starter.

If Lukas Podolski will play on Saturday against Borussia Dortmund, than he will be celebrating his milestone 100th Bundesliga match, 51 of which he played for his former club FC Köln. He has scored 32 goals so far, 22 for Köln.

32 goals in 100 games?
Thats low.
22 for Koln and only 10 for Bayern?

I'm not surprised. He played for a poor club such as FC Köln before, so as much as good you are, you still can't score a lot.
As for the fact that he scored more at Köln than at Bayern, that is totally clear, as he was an undisputed starter at FC Köln.
Lukas is young though, so he can improve his personal stats in the future.

As expected, Lukas played his 100th Bundesliga match today.
He came on as a substitute in the 77th minute, in Bayern's 1-1 away draw to Dortmund.

Podolski Frustrated Again
Quote:
It appears that Bayern Munich striker Lukas Podolski is once again losing patience with the club’s management and their decision to keep him on the bench at the start of the season.
The young forward had hoped that this season would be different from last season, when he had to settle for a near permanent place on the Bayern bench.
Trainer Jürgen Klinsmann had praised him for his performance in the opening fixture against Hamburg, but then dropped him to the bench for this weekend’s clash with Dortmund.
The question is: how long will Podolski put up with this?
The German international was sent on in the 77th minute of Bayern’s 1-1 draw with Dortmund for the disappointing Luca Toni. He had hoped to get a start with Miroslav Klose clearly out of form. Indeed he now has a Bundesliga goal drought that goes back to last April.
Podolski hasn’t said anything publicly, but his demeanour during and after the Dortmund game gave a few indications of his mood. After the game he ignored journalists and sped into changing rooms and was the first player changed and back on the Bayern team bus.
“Every player who doesn’t play is going to be disappointed” explained Bastian Schweinsteiger. “I can well imagine that he is annoyed.”
Why Poldi wasn’t in the starting XI, only Jürgen Klinsmann knows, but the former national team trainer had assured Podolski of his plans before the start of the season.
“I am looking forward to letting him loose. We are going to have a lot of joy from him this season” Klinsmann promised prior to the Bundesliga start.
If the 23 year old has to settle for a place on the bench for much longer, then his time at Bayern may be a short one as 1.FC Köln are still maintaining their interest in the former favoured son.
“We will continue to fight for him and ring him back here” president Wolfgang Overath told Welt-online. “But the door has to be opened for us. I am sure though that at some point he will return here.
“His heart is here. He would improve his performances if was to get his old self-confidence back.”
It seems that as every game goes by with him settling for a place on the bench, the more likely it is that he will jump ship in search of regular football.

Come on! Don't 'buy' everything that media reports.
Contrary to those reports, I saw a very much in mood Lukas, who was laughing all the time during the half time break. I don't think he is frustrated at the moment. I don't think he is complaining anymore either.

RUMMENIGGE LAUGHS OFF PODOLSKI TALK
Quote:
Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has ridiculed Cologne president Wolfgang Overath for renewing his club's interest in Lukas Podolski.
Overath told the Welt am Sonntag newspaper that Podolski "will come back to Cologne at some stage" and said his club are ready to "fight and try to bring him back at any time that the transfer window is open".
But Rummenigge claims Overath is all talk and no action.
"I find his intentions very amusing," he told the Bild newspaper. "Apart from big announcements, nothing else has come yet.
"Cologne have never made any moves and it is particularly amusing when I keep hearing that it is FC Bayern who have to make the first move.
"We will not say: 'Dear Cologne, you can have Lukas Podolski from us', and that is 100 per cent certain."
Podolski was on the bench again at the weekend as Bayern drew 1-1 at Borussia Dortmund and, with several days of transfer activity left, the final word in the saga may not yet have been spoken.
The Germany striker appeared to have been convinced by new Bayern coach Jurgen Klinsmann that he figures prominently in his plans but, after seeing Luca Toni thrust back into the first team despite having trained only a handful of times all summer and Miroslav Klose keep his place despite not scoring for five months, he may once again be considering his options.
And his hometown club of Cologne would be the first to make a move, but apparently only if Bayern call them first. They have time until midnight on Sunday.

If Lukas Podolski will play on Sunday against Hertha BSC Berlin, than he will be celebrating his milestone 50th Bundesliga match in the jersey of FC Bayern München.

Podolski Shocker: I Shouldn't Have Signed For Bayern!
Quote:
Lukas Podolski has admitted to being increasingly concerned that signing for Bayern Munich was a bad career move.
Still widely perceived as Germany's golden boy, the young forward had hoped that this season would be different from last, when he had to settle for a near permanent place on the Bayern bench. So far that has not been the case, however.
In a recent interview with the 'Bild', the 23-year-old vented his frustration in a manner which makes it hard to argue that his relationship with the club's brass has reached a new low.
"I wouldn't have had I known that things were going to turn out like this," was Podolski's frank response when asked whether he still would have signed for Bayern had he been able to foresee what was in store for him in Munich.
"I'm not complaining though. I'm just not happy with the situation," he insisted.
Bayern director Uli Hoeness recently suggested that the ex 1.FC Koeln star needs a good kick in the butt, to which 'Prince Poldi' responded: "Why would he need to kick my behind? I've barely played at all this season, so it's not like I've been under-performing."
When pressed on whether he would consider a move abroad, Podolski replied: "Everything is possible."
He added: "I would be a bad footballer if I contented myself by sitting on the bench.
"I could tolerate it if it was a case of two or three weeks, but there comes a point when one has to draw the line and say: 'This is too much! I'm not making any progress here.' That's just human nature.

Not a good news for us huh I know Podolski will have problems again, if Klinsmann keep benching him like two previous matches. Giving Klose chance to refind his form is not a bad idea, but it seems to be unfair to Podolski. Now how can Klinsmann solve this?

You know, if Podolski put the same time and effort he does in whinnying and bitching, into improving his game and show that he's worth it... He'd be in the starting 11 with no doubt.
I do want Podolski to start 'cause Klose has been absolute shit. He gets tons of chances and has a terrible run. Podolski should start and play. But honestly, this fucking interview is a slap in the face. Jeez. He didn't start 1 match out of the 3 we've played so far (official matches). He should shut the fuck up.
