If Mark van Bommel will play on Tuesday against AC Fiorentina, than he will be celebrating his milestone 50th Champions League match.
He made 9 appearances with the jersey of FC Barcelona (the club he won the Champions League with in 2006), 32 with the jersey of PSV Eindhoven and 8 with the jersey of FC Bayern.

I say that I'm happy to see this Mark Van Bommel. More relaxed. Chilled. Not doing stupid shit (at least, not yet). He's not getting red carded nor yellow carded recently.
Which is good. He's our captain. There's no way out of it. I'm glad he's taking things more seriously.

Van Bommel set for exit?
Quote:
Bayern Munich are thought to be chasing a replacement for the out-going Mark Van Bommel, who seems set for the Allianz Arena exit door once his contract expires next summer.
The Dutchman is the first non-German captain of the Bavarian powerhouse, but has come in for criticism this season as a result of his temperament.
The skipper shouldered some of the flak for Bayern's early season slump, and even had to endure the ignominy of a spell on the sidelines.
Van Bommel's agent confirmed that Bayern have not yet offered to extend his client's deal and seems resigned to the fact that the 31-year-old is set to walk.
Rob Jansen told Kicker: "We are still waiting for Bayern and their plans. If they don't want Mark anymore then he will be off. That's the way it is in football."

PSV Interest Flatters Van Bommel
Quote:
Bayern Munich midfielder Mark van Bommel has admitted that he is flattered to hear of PSV Eindhoven's interest in him.
There has been rising speculation of late linking the Bayern captain with a move away from the Allianz Arena this summer, with a return to his homeland on the cards.
Earlier this week it was reported that his former club PSV were keeping tabs on the situation, and van Bommel has now confessed to being ecstatic to hear these reports.
"It delights me that PSV are interested in me," Van Bommel told Omroep Brabant.
"But I have a talk scheduled with Bayern Munich next month and after that my future should be a lot clearer. Until then, it's all speculation."
He went on, "I'm glad that PSV want me back. I played there for six years, and that means they were satisfied with me, that they see in me a player who can help the team.
"It's now a question of waiting and seeing how everything develops."
It has long been known that Van Bommel intends to finish his career in Holland, but a move back to PSV could come sooner rather than later.
"Of course that's what I said when I left the club," he continued.
"PSV are a fantastic club, the greatest club in Holland. But we'll have to see what happens. Bayern are the first party for me to speak with, and after that we'll see."

I am glad Bayern are going to talk with him, and work things out. Its the least they can do for him. I remember all the hype over the years, even before he went to Barca, to try and get MvB. The beginning of this season was very unfortunate for everyone involved, and I hope things can work out. with ZeRo moving on, and even if we get another DM, there is room for MvB.
