FC Bayern München and Oliver Kahn have decided to appeal against the one-match ban the goalkeeper had been handed by UEFA.
Kahn had been punished for improper conduct at the doping control after Bayern's round of 16 win over Real Madrid.
20,000 Swiss francs
Additionally to the one-match ban, he had been fined 20,000 Swiss francs.
The Bayern board and the player have today decided to appeal against the verdict.

Neither do I. Uefa have very strict rules when it comes to suspensions, but remenber they reduced van Bommel's suspension.

Appeal lodged against Kahn ban
FC Bayern München have lodged an appeal with UEFA against a one-match ban and €12,339 (CHF 20,000) fine imposed on their goalkeeper Oliver Kahn by the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Committee last week.
Improper conduct
Kahn, 37, received the suspension and fine for improper conduct at the doping control after the UEFA Champions League first knockout round second leg against Real Madrid CF in Munich on 7 March.
2 April hearing
UEFA confirmed receipt of the appeal, which has been lodged with Kahn's written consent, on Tuesday and said that the UEFA Appeals Body would deal with the appeal on Monday 2 April.

Kahn ban appeal: Verdict delayed until eve of Milan clash
Bayern are due in Milan for an eagerly-awaited Champions League quarter-final first leg clash next Tuesday, but coach Ottmar Hitzfeld will not know his goalkeeping options until a day before hostilities commence at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium.
The reason is a decision by European football's governing body UEFA not to convene an appeals tribunal to consider the case of Oliver Kahn until Monday. The 37-year-old Bayern captain was banned for the match in Milan last week after being found guilty of inappropriate conduct at the post-match doping control following his club's Round of 16 return against Real Madrid.
Hitzfeld unhappy with date
In a further complication, Kahn has been summoned to make a personal appearance at the tribunal. While his team-mates are on the plane from Munich to northern Italy, the 37-year-old will join Bayern lawyer Dr Michael Gerlinger at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. "I'm very unhappy with the date. Kahn is our leader. The team needs to know whether he's playing as early as possible," Hitzfeld told the Bild tabloid.
Kahn deputy Michael Rensing would also have preferred an earlier decision. "I've spoken to him a couple of times in training and told him he should look forward to the match. An appearance would be a reward for his dedicated work in training," Hitzfeld reflected, although the focus would be on lifting Kahn's suspension: "We'll battle on his behalf."
Irreplaceable Van Bommel
The problem is exacerbated by the absence of influential midfielder Mark van Bommel with a one-match ban. "We have to get by," the Bayern coach remarked, "but there's no way we can totally compensate for losing him." Martin Demichelis and Andreas Ottl are the lead candidates for the central midfield role.
Bayern had contacted UEFA with a potential solution to the scheduling snarl-up, the club has revealed. Officials suggested lifting Kahn's ban for the match in Milan and delaying the appeals procedure until later in the week. If that resulted in the suspension being confirmed, the player would have sat out the return on 11 April in Munich, but the governing body rejected the idea.

I think uefa will let Kahn play. If they weren't thinking about droping the suspension, I'm sure they wouldn't dealy their decision

Kahn suspension: Bayern withdraw appeal against ban
After consultations on Thursday, the Bayern Munich board of directors and club captain Oliver Kahn have decided to withdraw their appeal against the one-match suspension imposed on the player by UEFA.
The German champions thus travel to the Giuseppe Meazza stadium to face AC Milan in next Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final first leg knowing they will be without their inspirational goalkeeper. The 37-year-old was banned for one match last week after being found guilty of inappropriate conduct at the doping control following his club's Round of 16 return against Real Madrid.
Removing a distraction
Kahn and the board initially lodged an appeal against the verdict, but the date for the tribunal to hear the appeal was set for next Monday, the eve of the game in Milan, with the player ordered to appear in person at UEFA headquarters in Nyon (see report).
Bayern have chosen not to appeal in order to clarify the situation ahead of a vital Bundesliga fixture at home to leaders Schalke on Saturday and the Milan trip three days later, eliminating a potential distraction for the players in the build-up to the crunch games.
Rensing fired up
Number two keeper Michael Rensing will deputise for Kahn at the San Siro. "I have no qualms whatsoever about picking Michael. I'm delighted for him. He's already played well for us against Milan a year ago," coach Ottmar Hitzfeld remarked. Rensing's solitary outing in the Champions League to date came in last season's 1-1 draw at the Allianz Arena in the Round of 16 first leg.
The Bayern boss has already spoken to the 22-year-old a number of times over the last few days, preparing him for the possibility of an appearance. "He's totally fired up for the match. I have complete faith in him, and so does the team," Hitzfeld declared.

Kahn sticks to quit plan
Oliver Kahn has confirmed next season will be his last at Bayern Munich before retiring.
The veteran goalkeeper has been planning to go out at the top, but Bayern have recently been trying to persuade him to prolong his career.
Club supremo Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was keen for the former Germany international to sign an extension to his contract.
But Kahn, 37, has now reiterated that he will be quitting professional football at the end of the 2007/08 campaign.
"My career as a goalkeeper will definitely end on June 30, 2008," Kahn told Die Welt newspaper.
"Just like I did with the national team, I will leave at the top.
"I don't want to find myself in the situation where someone decides for me."
With Kahn sticking to his retirement date, Bayern have put their faith in Michael Rensing to take over the number one jersey at the Allianz Arena.
Bayern general manager Uli Hoeness said: "We signed him for that (replacing Kahn) and, for the moment, that's what should happen in 2008."
